No one knows for sure who the Anti-Christ will be. There have been many theories as to who he could of or will be.

One such theory is that the Anti-Christ will be RCC Pope.

But could a supposed Evangelical leader become the Anti-Christ - someone such as a Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, Joyce Meyer, ect....

The False Christ will be an "alien" - at least in the similarity that the nephilim were hybrid (fallen) angels and humans.
I suspect that this hybridization will occur with gene-splicing of DNA, rather than the more "traditional" way of Genesis 6.

Don't know about the examples the OP suggested, but one could add to that historical list such men as Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, even some past and present POTUS's.

I even recall back in the 1970's that some were suggesting that "the man of peace, Dr. Henry Kissinger" seemed to have filled the bill.

I've always said it would ironic if the Anti-Christ (whom I don't think is predicted in Scripture nor do I hold to his theory) was a GOP leader. Lots of Christians would follow him/her.

John said there are many already.

The one that will ultimately be a union of all those before will be supported by the false prophet. There is no lack in the abundance of false prophets from the most fundamental to the most liberal.

I expect some mighty charismatic pope type will become the false prophet who turns people toward worship of the anti christ.

    Good luck with this.

I recently petitioned Sir Salty about this a few weeks ago about this same situation, and you see what good it did.

You might want to beg and plead on bended knee(s) that Sir Salty release his royal e-mail address to you (which apparently is NOT the same as you'll find in his "About Me" location---"Strike Two!!")

I think his "Holier Than Y'all" attitude may have something to do with the fact that His Royal Highness ("Sire" maybe??) spent time in that there US Ermy. You no, that thar four-letter-supposed fighin' group that's about 239 YO buy now!!!! :BangHead:

I believe Napoleon and Hitler were forerunners of the true antichrist, also called the 'beast', 'son of perdition', 'man of sin', 'that Wicked', etc. in Scripture.

Preterists tell us the AC was Nero, but, while nero was indeed a bad boy, he failed to meet many of the Scriptural criteria for the TRUE AC. For example, he had no false-prophet deputy who could call down lightning or make his boss' statue speak, and also, he died by having his secretary stab him, while the AC is to be cast alive into gehenna at Jesus' return.

I believe the AC will come outta "nowhere" as Napoleon and Hitler did, and the RCC will help propel him into power. Many thought Hitler was 'the man' cuz the RC Reichstag delegates passed the "Enabling Act" that gave him almost-absolute power in Germany.

And, according to Daniel, the AC will be of Roman descent. That doesn't necessarily mean Italian, as the Romans were scattered all around the Mediterranean coast and the British Isles. Lotsa possibilities there!

And there's no doubt Hitler was indwelt by a demon got awhile, as he was super-successful in everything he did from becoming Chancellor until France fell, at which point the demon apparently left him, and, left on his own, Hitler soon fell apart. But Satan still preserved him srom several assassination attempts. But Satan himself will indwell the AC, and remain with him until Jesus returns.

Roby, I am curious....what makes you come to the conclusion that Hitler....or pick any other villain of history, must have been indwelt by a demon. We humans do evil, even great evil, with apparent ease.

In his youth, Hitler showed little ambition nor talent to do anything special. He fancied himself to be an artist, but his artwork was surpassed in quality by many 10-yr. olds. He eked out a living by making commercial posters for products, such as a brand of hand soap sold in Vienna. He tried to gain admission into a prestigious art school, but was turned down for lacka talent.

He obtained permission from the Austrian govt. to join the German army in WW1, and became a messenger, an essential but very-dangerous job before the development of radio. He won the Iron Cross, both first and second classes, for bravery. Yes, he REALLY won them; this was NOT propaganda trying to make him appear heroic.(He refused promotion several times, wishing to remain a "front-liner".)

It was during this time he found he had an ability to "speak" and sway an audience, when, in idle times in barracks, he expressed his views in the course of conversations with his comrades. After the war, he was employed by his old sergeant, Max Amann, as an "intelligence agent", whose job was to visit the meetings of the many small political parties and anti-govt. agencies that blossomed after the war. In between assignments, he began to practice his oratory on his barracks mates, even rehearsing in fronta a mirror. One of his assignments was to check out a small party called the German Workers' Party (DAP), and at its meeting, he became incensed at one of the speakers, and rose to deliver his own oratory. The whole roomful of people were mesmerized by his speech, and the rest is history!

While he had a few bumps in the road on his way to power, such as the "Beer Hall Putsch" which landed him in jail, his journey was mostly successful after that. Again, let us remember this was a man of average intelligence at the most, even though he was a voracious reader.

Hitler had dabbled in the occult in his youth, and that was probably the time the demon indwelt him. However, it didn't manifest itself in him until he joined the army, and then the demon only enhanced his speechmaking ability. It guided him into making all the right moves to obtain the Chancellorship. But once he became Chancellor, it led him to great success in everything...until France fell. Then, the demon left him, and, left on his own, he soon fell apart.

Given Hitler's history, it's highly-unlikely he coulda risen as high as he did, and stooped to such unprecedented evil as he did, especially in his fanatical hatred of the Jews, were he acting entirely on his own. And we see he went from master international manipulator and military leader to master idiot very swiftly, beginning with his allowing the British to escape at Dunkirk. But for awhile, he was still under some supernatural protection. He escaped one assassination attempt in which a normally very-reliable British time bomb was placed aboard his airplane, but failed to explode. This was the same type of bomb used to kill Reinhard Heydrich, and used by Stauffenburg in the "Wolf's Lair" assassination attempt. This mighta been an "acta God's", as He didn't want anyone to take credit for killing Hitler, or it mighta been an act of Satan's. We just don't know.

But, based upon the facts of Hitler's history, I believe he was indwelt by a demon, which manifested itself in him from his days in the army until the fall of France in WW2. This is, of course, merely my belief, with nothing "official" tied to it.

The Anti-Christ will be a Jew. He will be the second beast in Revelation and will present himself to the Jews as their Messiah.

The Beast that is the first of the beast in Revelation is referred to by many as the anti-chirst and while he is against Christ he is not the false Christ. In the OP you seem to refer to this first beast is that correct?

Well, actually, according to Daniel 9:26, he will be of Roman descent. As to whether or not he will be a Jew depends upon how God views Jews adopted by Romans, such as Josephus. For now, however, I'm sticking with his being other than a Jew, as the Romans were widespread all around the Mediterranean and British Isles, which leaves a huge pool of nations he could come from.

Now, it's very possible that his deputy, a miracle-working false prophet, could be a Jew or a pope. The only Scriptural hint of his nationality is that he rose from the earth in the revelation vision.

Are you speaking of the Beast out of the sea and who will most likely be the leader of the Revived Roman Empire or the anti-christ the beast out of the earth?

    Both.

We see from the context of Scripture that the beast outta the earth will be the deputy of the beast outta the sea, as he causes the statue of the first beast to speak in the first beast's presence. The beast from the sea will be the AC, as it's he who will commit the 'abomination of desolation' by declaring himself to be God.

Scripture also metaphorically calls his kingdom a beast, so we must pay close attention to which beast a given passage is referring to.

Back to Salty's original query: There are many, many people who are of Roman descent, unknown to them or any other man, but not to GOD. So, yes, it IS possible he could be some celebrity of today, but I lean toward his "coming from nowheresville" as Napoleon and Hitler did, and being a "statesman" rather than a pretend-man-of-God. I believe he will amaze the world by brokering peace between seemingly-irreconcilable camps, such as between Palestinian/Hamas & the Jews, between Sunni & Shiite Moslems, the two Koreas, etc. With no "experienced" Christians left to warn the world, almost

I also believe the rapture will occur before those men attain full power, so there'll be very few voices of warning raised against him or against the marka the beast, which I believe will be some kinda computer chip embedded under the skin. The technology for that already exists.

The beast out of the Earth is called the False Prophet or false christ and therefore is the anti-christ. The Beast out of the Sea is always referred to as the Beast and never the false christ or anti-chirst.

Revelation 19 gives he distinction, 20 "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."

    Revelation 13:

11 "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live"

Notice what he resembled, "he had two horns like a lamb," he is an anti-christ that opposite of Christ himself he is a false christ and called the false prophet.

So the Beast out of the sin while against Christ is not the anti-christ, he is the human ruler over the earth at that time but not the anti-christ or false Christ.

The two are part of the unholy trinity of which satan is the head.

Well, actually, the FIRST man is the AC, as it's he who will commit the 'abomination of desolation', etc. the second man will apparently ingratiate himself with the first one, so the first one makes him his deputy. this deputy will likely be the chief speaker of the pair, as it's he who will call on everyone to worship his boss, and who will institute the marka the beast.

And BOTH will be about as antichrist as a human can be! BOTH will be cast alive into gehenna.

Rev 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
--This is the Anti-Christ, a one-world political leader.

Rev 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
--Like the white horse in Rev.6 he goes forth to conquer. He will conquer "without arrows". "Who is able to make war with him?"

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations
--Eventually he will be the one that will declare war against the saints of God. It is his number that is 666

    Rev 13:11-14
    (11) And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
    (12) And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
    (13) And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
    (14) And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
--This describes the false prophet, the leader of a one-world church, a religious leader who will manage to bring all religions together. He will do that be deception, by his "miracles" (and technological wizardry). He will be demon-possessed even as the Anti-christ will be possessed by Satan.
As it says here, he will cause all the world to worship the first beast. They will make an image of the first beast and worship him.

Rev 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
--It appears that the Antichrist will at some time dispose of the "second beast," who will then come back again but only to be judged of God.
