I am not going to set a goal of number of books to read in 2016. Rather, I am setting a goal of reading some large books during the coming year. I do not know how to factor them in time wise, so I will not set a number of books for the year.

So far on my list I have the following books:

    1. Forgotten Soldier by Guy Sajer, World War II as seen through the eyes of a German soldier.
    2. Memoirs of the Second World War by Winston Churchill
    3. David Crockett: the Lion of the West
    4. Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu the classic Japanese classic written in the 11th century
    5. Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky

This is the beginning. I will add others during the year.

What are your plans or goals?

Nothing but textbooks until spring is over. Then I might have a chance to read for pleasure.

The British Civil War: The Wars of the Three Kingdoms 1638-1660 by Trevor Royle

I'm going to read "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" again. Otherwise my usual book per week.

I haven't read any Nazi histories. Was thinking about getting Speer's book.

I'll spot you Dostoevsky and raise you a Crime and Punishment.

I've still got so many half read

Here's a few on my to read for 2016 list:
Something, probably Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austin
Poetics and Interpretation of Biblical Narrative by Adele Berlin
Kingdom of Priests: A History of Old Testament Israel by Eugene H. Merrill
The Martian by Andy Wier (Alone on Mars, my idea of the perfect vacation getaway!)
