THE VALIDITY of A CHRISTIAN?

False Christians?
How do you tell them apart from the real Christians?

They both quote from the bible.
They both pray.
They both commit sin.
They both say they are not perfect.
They both claim to love Jesus.

Is there anything they both do not do that is the same?

What is the differences between the two?

One calls Him 'Lord, Lord' and does the things He says (obeys Him), does not live a lifestyle of lawlessness (iniquity) because this one has been saved from his sin.

The other calls Him 'Lord, Lord' and does not obey Him, does not really know Him, and lives a lifestyle of iniquity because this person has not been saved from his sin.

Matthew 7:21-23

I'd be more interested in telling if I am, or if I am not.

We should ask these questions and examine these Scriptures to see if our belief and conversion is genuine, and all of this is of God:

Is God in you, causing you to walk in His ways, Ezekiel 36:26-27; Php. 2:13;

Note the BOOK
of 1 John as a test (and not just 1 John 5:13) and prayerfully seek to know if we pass those tests within her pages, and if struggling we look for the power of God and willingness to repent and practice righteousness, as we all fall short in some ways yet there is abiding fruit at the same time;

Do we abide in His teachings?, 2 John;

Do we live in iniquity? Galatians 5:19ff.

Do we bear good fruit?, and the only way we can is to abide in Him, John 15;

Do we pursue peace and the holiness? (sanctification) Hebrews 12:14.

These are some of the things He has given as a light to our path to direct us to Him and with which to examine ourselves.

Isn't all this for those who do not have the indwelling of the Holy Ghost?

You either have the indwelling of the Holy Ghost
or you do not have the indwelling of the Holy Ghost.

I don't think it can get much more simple as that.

Do you?

Because the Scriptures give us tests of self examination for a reason, and also show to us what true conversion looks like, and what false conversion looks like. This is what I shared with you above. As the disciples stated 'Is it I'?
Are you talking about this scripture?

Here is how you know
if you really are a child of God.

1 John, Chapter 3

8: He that committeth sin is of the devil;
for the devil sinneth from the beginning.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9: Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin;
for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin,
because he is born of God.

10: In this the children of God are manifest,
and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth
not righteousness is not of God, neither he that
loveth not his brother.

The children of God are not brothers and sisters
to the children of the devil.
