She is not best known for her campaigning for Golwater. She is best known for her campaign against the Equal Rights Amendment during the 70s. She wrote about 20 books and had a column for decades in national periodicals.
Your opinion is noted. From your perspective you think her endorsement means little to nothing.
It's true that many younger conseratives may have never even heard of her. But folks of my generation have appreciated her for the most part. She's still very bright and vibrant.

From many years ago I remember reading an interview with Barry Goldwater where he said something along these lines; "If someone wants to stick their head in a lion's mouth they should be free to do it".

Reminds me of an old SNL skit. Gilda Radner's scatter-brainedcharacter said :"What's all this FUSS I hear about an EAGLE rights amendment?" Then she would blather on for a while in a disconnected way, only to be told :"It's Equal Rights --not eagle rights." Well then, never mind.

Another one was "What's all this I hear about endangered feces?"

...another one was 'the presidential erection'. Never mind.

She wrote the book "A Choice not an Echo" in 1964 supporting Goldwater which sold 3 million copies. Nothing she has done since then has surpassed it.

    Yes, she's a has-been.

No books. A few magazine articles.

Again, her work against the ERA is what she is most noted for.

She has given lots of speeches, written hundreds of columns for decades, and authored more than a score of books.

She got her Master's degree at Harvard. She is an intellectual workhorse for the right.

You have underestimated her influence and authority.

    Getting an endorsement from a has-been is better than getting one from a newer-was(Palin). o_O :D ;) :)

Agreed, none of which surpassed the influence of her 1964 book.

    You are exceedingly overestimating it.

She endorsed Steve Forbes in 2000. She did not endorse anyone in 2008. (I guess that's why Obama won, huh?) She endorsed Michelle Bachmann in 2012. She also endorsed Todd Akin of Missouri for Senate in 2012. You will remember Akin as saying victims of "legitimate rape" rarely get pregnant.

So not a record of picking winners and influencing people.

Her book was influential; but it surely can't compare with all she has done since. It's just common sense.

Trump is also getting the thumbs up from a lot of white supremacists. Perhaps cosigning with him ain't that great an idea when it turns out you're in agreement with the David Dukeses of the country.

I think Trump got her endorsement simply for the sake of the Iowa caucuses, since he had fallen behind Cruz - and he needs the street creds to the Christian right. Don't expect to see her anywhere close to New Hampshire. She may re-appear in South Carolina before disappearing again for Nevada.

She needs to disappear back to Alaska. I just can't see why anyone thought she was a good idea. She'll try to upstage Trump and he won't hesitate to not only throw her under the bus, but back up and run over her again with Bristol at the wheel pointing down at her going

I would have thought she would have endorsed a conservative. Go figure.

She didn't kill McCain. He was dead from the start.
