Retractable microphone cords -- words of advice??

Hi y'all!

Our church has color coded mic cords, they work great, and we plan to keep the current cords. But they are NOT retractable. We're fixing to do some work on the stage and figure this is a stellar time for us to address this.

We did a little reading on the Stage N inja brand but sure could use some advice from those of you who can speak from experience. What are other brand names of the same?

And if you're really savvy on the subject, maybe you could provide some links for us?

Thanks for your kind response, annsni. I'm not sure about the rolling and bending of the cable over time? But the tech guy that installed our system offered to put some in at that time. We were already over budget, plus we really didn't understand what a hassle a/o hazard the cords would be laying different directions across the stage until we tripped over them a few times. Lesson learned!

It sounds like your church has a good, solid plan for your cords, annsni. Very workable.

I apologize that I neglected to say that the mics are not wireless, and they're stationary. The cords come up from under the stage, next to the mic stands. Point A to B is where we're poking the cords back down into the hole which leads under the stage when placing the mics back on their stands. The stands (and holes in the floor) are flush with the pulpit, on both sides of it.

Envision the mic cords being strewn in many directions following a few songs by the praise band, and then the pastor being careful from that point not to trip on those 4-6 cords. Whereas, if the cords would recoil back under the stage, the tripping problem would be solved.

What we're doing works okay, we just happen to be in a mode of upgrade because we're currently expanding the stage.
