No its not. It was expected that he would win his own state. He has not reached the necessary threshold to win the nomination straight out.

The first link talks about how Cruz is not going to be losing sleep over NY because it was planned into this strategy.
The Second link talks about the what the count is at when you looked unpledged delegates. Cruz is in no way out of this race, and Trump is showing that he is not the shrewd negotiator he bragged about being.

Liberals voting for Trump? Why would this be a surprise. That is what liberals do vote for guys like Trump who are inconsistent, over the top, unpredictable, and just down right rude.

Trump was expected to win New York. Cruz and Kasich barely campaigned there.

Hillary Clinton received TWICE as many votes yesterday as Trump did. In fact, Bernie Sanders received 235,000 more votes than Trump did.

Onward to Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. I suspect Kasich will siphon off delegates Connecticut and Pennsylvania, but Trump should sweep Maryland and Delaware which are winner take all states.

As to the OP, Trump lost Manhattan to Kasich.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Donald Trump celebrated his overwhelming New York primary victory in the glitzy midtown Manhattan skyscraper that bears his name, boasting it was rewarding to get such a triumph from “the people who know me best.”

Yet the one county he lost in the state was his home borough of Manhattan.

Trump’s 45 percent to 42 percent loss to John Kasich on the island stood in contrast to his dominance across the rest of the state.

I have no idea what made people want to start putting a pound sign in front of short sayings.
O O Okay.

Perhaps a coding class or an IS class is warranted. Or you might just investigate why the hashtag IS used. It does serve a purpose.:)

Um, we are talking about NY, the liberal capital of the country. Interesting, the number of Bernie supporters that say #NeverHillary, and highly prefer an outsider that might go to Trump. Even heard many were turned away from the Republican primary not realizing they couldn't vote in it if registered as a Dem.

In the end, if Trump gets the nomination I believe many will have a change of heart when considering the fact that he would be the only hope to stop Hillary and her agendas and unity will be the rightful voice reason. On the other hand, I believe many Bernie supporters will outright turn parties, not just by withholding their vote to give advantage to the opposition, and go for an outsider (Trump).

Um, we are talking about NY, the liberal capital of the country.

There are 2,554,996 active enrolled Republican voters in New York. Trump received 515,291 votes.

That does not suggest a level of excitement for the home state guy.

I won't be one of them. If Trump (or Kasich) is the nominee I'll either abstain from voting for President or write someone in.

...And New York City alone has nearly 2.8 million Democrats to 414,000 Republicans. Or over times 6 times as many registered and yet only twice as many votes for Hillary...

Yeah, I know your stand and compared it to the current dems.

...and also suggested the voice of reason will bring on unity in the VERY IMPORTANT only hope to stop Hillary and believe many will consider this a higher priority than simply throwing away their vote.

Again, some of you kill me with this notion that supporting the Trump devil is someone how the equivalent of giving us hope.Rolleyes

Do some of you even know what you sound like? Christ has us here to point people to Him and show them that HE is their hope. But to listen to some of you, the well being and hope of the world rests on us supporting the Trump devil over the Hillary.

But this type of unrepentant sin is again, IMO, why we keep getting just what we deserve instead of what we want.

We're not called to vote for wickedness just because some of you are scared of Hillary Clinton and think it more important to win an election than represent Christ.
