Spoke to my Senator about the disaster

And asked why we are not dropping water and food from the air. The answer was, the senators don't know either. They are being kept in the dark as much as the average citizen.

This is not a political action. It is now a military action. I don't think Congress really needs to be consulted on military operations. Besides, they were on summer recess until called back to Washington today.

It is very much a political action as it will require shifting of federal funds and federal resources.

I think what BI is saying is that our senators and congressmen are not in a position to automatically know the administrative details of the procedures.

Yes, I did say she didn't know, but my statement earlier stands. She is very, very often consulted on such things- and it is highly unusual that she was not kept informed this go round.

A situation she did correct before 5:00 last night.
