Getting kids to sleep on a plane

    My wife and I have a 20 month old boy and we might be travelling in few weeks.
    One thing makes our head spin is our toddler on the plane.
    We don't want to be one of those travelers who let their kids be annoying little human co-passengers.

    He used to be a great car rider and had no problem riding on planes, but the last few months he has peaked through the toddler tantrum phase and he doesn't like to be tied down to a place.

    So any good tips/suggestions on how to get kids to sleep on a plane?

    First off, bring your car seat. Yes, it's a royal pain in the butt but seriously - it will help so much because he already knows that he has to stay in his seat in the car. Then plan to bring fun things for him to do and LOTS of snacks and rewards. To get him to sleep? The only thing you can do is to do it at night or else give him Benadryl which some doctors will recommend. I know it's drugging your kid but sometimes desperate measures are called in to help. LOL

    Great advice. You may want to have an aisle seat so that you can walk him up and down the aisle if necessary, without having to crawl over other passengers. Also, you know his schedule. If possible, you may want to fly when it would normally be his nap time.

    PS -- As someone who flies rather often, I really wish more parents with babies were so thoughtful...
