All I know is I am not one but I heard these words of wisdom from a pastor who had been one over 50 years... He said the 3 phases of a pastor, preacher, or minister is this!... Number one they are idolized, number two they are criticized and number three they are scandalized... Maybe two and three are interchangeable... Maybe this fella here was saying things he ought not and the congregation didn't take kindly to what he said... Well he is exercising!... Brother Glen:Biggrin

I know of churches where I feel sorry for their pastor and future pastors because of the narrowness and meanness of some in the congregation. There are some churches where I feel sorry for the congregation as well. I had a pastor who told me that there is a certain type of neurotic who are attracted to churches, and that when they began to really bother him he knew it was time to take a vacation.

Then there are churches where I feel the pastor and the congregation are very fortunate and blessed to have each other.
