midst of my people Israel.

Hello Gf50, and welcome to the forum. I hope your time here will be blessed, and that you in turn might be a blessing to those here.

Ezekiel 14:7-10

King James Version (KJV)

7 For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the Lord will answer him by myself:

8 And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the Lord have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

10 And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;

I see in this a general principle set forth in the Word of God that God will allow men to be deceived, and will let them continue in that state of deception, which is itself a judgment of God for those who sear their conscience against that which God has revealed to them.

This will happen large scale in the Tribulation:

2 Thessalonians 2:8-12

King James Version (KJV)

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

It's not a matter of God forcing these people to believe what is not true, it's a matter of God giving them over to their own desires which stand in direct opposition to that which He has commanded.

So too, for Israel, they had received God's will, and for those that rejected His will, and then sought after false prophets for validation of what they wanted to believe, God would give them...

...the desires of their heart.

And that always ends in damnation.

Again, welcome to the forum.

God bless.

1 Kings 22:23
Now therefore, behold,
the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets
, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

Luke 1:20

King James Version (KJV)

20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

Isaiah
Chapter 45

6 That they may know from the rising of the sun,
and from the west, that there is none beside me.
I am the LORD, and there is none else
.

7 I form the light,
and create darkness: I make peace,
and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Isaiah 64

King James Version (KJV)

1 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,

2 As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!

3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

5 Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.

6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

You are correct, my friend, there is but One God, and beside Him there is no other Savior.

But I wonder if you also understand that despite our failures, despite our sin and iniquity...

...He is still the Savior.

God bless.

I am promoting the scriptures of truth.

Have you notice I have not given you my own opinion or doctrine
or interpretation but just quoted the scriptures to you?

The rest is your own doing not mine.

How can someone who holds no doctrine promote Scripture? You are using words void of context and in isolation of the rest of the Bible.

I repeat my question in post #2. What is your point?
Ezekiel 14:9
And if the prophet be deceived
when he hath spoken a thing,
I the LORD have deceived that prophet,
and I will stretch out my hand upon him,
and will destroy him from the
midst of my people Israel.

Which scripture that I posted are you referring too?
Isaiah for example. Why did God ordain disaster or create calamity? What is the context? Is "evil" the best translation? Is God causing evil (calamity or disaster) or using evil as a means of judgement? One can cannot simple post that verse without context and commentary on a forum. What is the point in that?

The Bible is clear that God is thoroughly good and only does good

I am promoting the scriptures of truth.

Have you notice I have not given you my own opinion or doctrine
or interpretation but just quoted the scriptures to you?

Actually you do give insight to your opinion in your emphasis:

Ezekiel 14:9
And if the prophet be deceived
when he hath spoken a thing,
I the LORD have deceived that prophet,
and I will stretch out my hand upon him,
and will destroy him from the
midst of my people Israel.

You set "I the Lord have deceived" apart from the body of the verse, which is basically taking it out of it's context.

Now what people decide you have done that for is up to them.

You give further insight in your next verse:

Isaiah
Chapter 45

6 That they may know from the rising of the sun,
and from the west, that there is none beside me.
I am the LORD, and there is none else
.

7 I form the light,
and create darkness: I make peace,
and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

The common theme so far is to highlight statements which, taken apart from their context in the passage, and taken apart from the context of the Bible as a whole...can lead to some serious confusion.

That's not exactly what I would call "promoting Scripture.

Would I be promoting Scripture is I went to a forum and posted...

Matthew 27:5

King James Version (KJV)

5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

...and when someone asks the reason why I post this I then post...

Luke 10:37

King James Version (KJV)

37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

...and then when I see that I have irritated the members there, I post...

John 13:27

King James Version (KJV)

27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

...would you consider that "promoting Scripture" too?

The rest is your own doing not mine.

Not entirely, because you are presenting more than one opinion, first in the emphasis in the quotes as well as your interaction here.

Nothing wrong with opinions, this is after all a Christian Doctrinal debate and discussion forum.

So go ahead, instead of being roundabout, just speak your mind. If you know you will be banned for your doctrine, perhaps you could try just talking with people here, and listening to why they might see your doctrine as in error.

The only thing at risk is your pride and your membership.

;)
