    Matthew 7:13-14 (NKJV)
    “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way
    that leads to destruction ([HASHTAG]#684[/HASHTAG]), and there are many who go in by it.
    Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life ([HASHTAG]#2222[/HASHTAG]),
    and there are few who find it.”

    “destruction” (Strong’s [HASHTAG]#684[/HASHTAG]) “of persons, signifying their
    spiritual and eternal perdition, Matthew 7:13”
    “life” (Strong’s [HASHTAG]#2222[/HASHTAG]) “Eternal life …it has moral associations
    which are inseparable from it, as of holiness and righteousness”

    No other passage attacks today’s easy-believism with as much force as the above!
    It amounts to the Savior’s own presentation of the way of salvation …
    and it brings the Sermon on the Mount to a powerful climax.

    2 gates -- narrow & wide
    2 paths -- difficult & broad
    2 destinations -- heaven & hell
    2 participants -- few & many
    Also in Matthew 7 …
    2 trees/fruit -- good & bad
    2 builders -- wise & foolish
    2 foundations -- rock & sand

    “Jesus himself stands at the crux of each person’s destiny and demands
    a deliberate choice of life or death, heaven or hell … the Lord requires that
    each person choose between following the world on the easy, well-travelled
    road, or following him on the difficult road. … The choices are clear-cut.
    He demands a decision, We are all at the crossroads, and each individual
    must choose which way he or she will go. … The message of Jesus cannot
    be made to accommodate any kind of cheap grace or easy-believism.”
    (John MacArthur, The Gospel according to Jesus, Zondervan, 1994)

    Each person inevitably must make a choice … and God has always presented choices!
    • “I have set before you today life and good, death and evil … I have set before you
    life and death, the blessing and cursing; therefore choose life …” (Deut 30:15-19)
    • “I set before you the way of life and the way of death.’ ” (Jeremiah 21:8)

    Both gates are marked, “Heaven”, but one of the gates does NOT lead to heaven!
    The narrow gate is like a turnstile: only one person can pass through at a time.

    Another passage which annihialates today’s easy-believism …
    “Then one said to Him, ‘Lord, are there few who are saved ([HASHTAG]#4982[/HASHTAG])?’
    And He said to them, ‘Strive (#75) to enter through the narrow gate,
    for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.’ ” (Luke 13:23-24)

    “strive” (Strong’s #75) “agonizamai”: “to contend (Eng. “agonize”), KJV “laboring fervently”

    “violent men take it (the kingdom of heaven) by force” (Matthew 11:12)
    “everyone is forcing his way into it (the kingdom)” (Luke 16:16)

    The broad way is the natural choice, from a human point of view.
    People prefer sin over righteousness.

    Some believers fight the narrow road to the very death … they just refuse to acknowledge it.
    Some believers are devastated by the truth of the narrow road, and fall away from the faith.

    This gives a whole new meaning to “the terrible twos”.

    28“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.29“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.30“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”



    Easy Believism is true especially if you ever met God the epitome of a hero.

    Tell us a story about when you met God had a good look and thought to yourself........we are doomed.


    The person who can conclude God's capacity to correct is lesser then our capacity to mess things up.

    God's motivation to do Good is he is good and loves all.




    To build an anxiety over whether you go to heaven or hell is a sin too.

    Matthew 6

    31“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32“For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
    34“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.




    Could you trust God without having to worry about anything for one day? Without one inch of fear. As if God were your best friend, the greatest parent.

    You can have heaven TODAY, if you want it.


    What we want and what heaven is are two differ things. Heaven there is no things going wrong just more creative. Heaven there is no greater aid to you then God.


    If you worry about anything that is a sin.
    If you fear anything that is a sin.

    It needs to be CONCLUDED God is for me great nothing will stop us, or God is against us what hope do we have?


    Now of course anyone hates anyone, auto hates God.


    God doesn't keep a score for sake of a score. A good parent doesn't say well......he's down to only slapping me twice a week, that will do. They always push to improve.


    God the Father is in a war FOR you. And he is against other POWERFUL motivations, like FEAR and VANITY.

    Some people struggle with understanding sanctification.

    Perfect Calvinist says ALL people can't understand sanctification at all. Only God can understand it for them.

    I've always been baffled at how utterly difficult so many want salvation to be, when the truth says....

    "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

    After all, what did the thief on the Cross ever do for salvation besides show his faith in Jesus when he asked Jesus to remember him.

    It's important to note the verses that come before verse 28 in Matthew chapter 11.
    Matthew 11:25-28
    [25]At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike.
    [26]Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!
    [27]“My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
    [28]Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

    The whole question in all of this is the age-old question ...
    Does one have to be a "disciple" of Jesus to be invited into heaven?
    Or, can one just be a barely-believing believer?

    Methunks someone might just start a thread on this?

    Do death bed confessions count as salvation? Thief on cross? Those in jail about to get executed?
