If you like it tell your friends
if you dont like it - tell your enemies.

I'm with you, Dr. Bob. There's already so much negative and ugly sarcasm about Christianity that I just can't stomach the "light" version of the Bee.

I just have to wonder - is cartoonishly mocking the church from "within" the church the best way to grow and correct the church? Does the Bee bring forth conviction and change or is it just another entertainment on the net?

But, to each his or her own.

I appreciated the original Eutychus cartoon in each issue of Christianity Today - they were aimed at foibles but without the "Bee's" extreme

This just in from Babylon Bee: Members of the Baptist discussion site Baptist Board, are critiquing the Babylon Bee article about the BB, which broke the news that bow ties are required for membership. Stay tuned for further developments.

An anonymous source at the Babylon Bee has informed me that he/she has an anonymous source at the Baptist Board, but other than that I can't give details.

Agree with you. Sometimes they are funny, but more often they are just tiresome. I love satire, but that is not an end in itself. But I'm probably just an old curmudgeon also, not wanting to waste that dwindling resource I have - time.

I find it occasionally humorous. I have seen a writer or two point out that it can make Christianity look like a joke to those outside the faith.

None the less, it comes from a long heritage of Christian satire (the old Wittenberg Door, for example).

I think much of Christianity has been doing a powerful good of that already.

I agree and some of us as mature Christians and some not so much... And we have taken our share of medicine and dished some out too... But I often wonder how many times someone ventures over here to take a look at these Christians and never decide to join?... Maybe its happened in your church and I know from experience it happened in mine... But that's a long story and would bring discredit to the Lord and that's one thing on this board I will not do... Make fun of his people ok but show the Lord less than he is... I won't cross that line... Brother Glen:)

That should have said "I think much of Christianity has been doing a powerful LOT of that already."

[Looks like most of you understood what I meant to say. Thanks. Getting to where I can't think or type (or type what I'm thinking).]

I don't know that a distaste for the Bee counts as "old" but if you are old enough to remember buying The Onion on print out of a newspaper machine...
