"John McCain is leading the fight against ObamaCare." That was the message when Senator McCain - a now-proven liar and a hypocrite - was running for re-election. When he was scrounging for votes, he was more than happy to tell you what a disaster the ACA was, that it was doomed to fail, and that Democrats needed to "wake up" and admit that simple fact.

    Yeah. He's a real fighter.

In fact, he's such a fighter that he voted for a much broader, all-encompasing, repeal back in 2015 - when it didn't matter.

Last night we saw, for the umpteenth time, exactly who and what John McCain really is. He's a turncoat, an opportunist, and a promise-peddling glory hound. He's a man who's never met a camera he didn't like, and who will trash his alleged principles at the drop of a hat - if it furthers his own greater glories and protects his seemingly endless career.

Statist Democrats, who once upon a time wanted McCain's scalp because he was the worst of the Keating Five, are praising him as a hero.

John McCain, venomous hypocrite and liar, dooms ObamaCare repeal - here's what he said about it for the last 8 years

How long will it be before someone blames his vote on his brain tumor?

Meh, people have been calling him the Manchurian Candidate for decades. I'm sure the same people are already jumping on the tumor.

He ran for President as a maverick in 2008.

A couple of days ago the man said they should have debate on the bill, not work on it in secret, not pass it in the middle of the night, have bipartisan support, etc.

Then he votes no on the bill and we're supposed to be surprised?

He first ran for POTUS as a "maverick" in 2000 - Juan has always been a loose cannon, the Viet Cong really messed him up forever.

One thing about McCain, he loves attention and he loves to grandstand. Did the same thing when he was running in 2008, suspended his campaign to "save America", rushed back to DC in the most melodramatic way possible.

So he doesn't think the "skinny repeal" was bipartisan enough? Well, at least he didn't vote against it because it defunded PP for a whole whoppin' year like those other two bipartisans did. Some are saying he did this to get back at Trump but I doubt that - this not a stain on Trump, that honor belongs to the Senate. McCain's judgement has always been shaky, finishing at practically the bottom at Annapolis, the fabled nasty temper, being the biggest crook of the Keating 5, bomb bomb Iran, teaming up with Schumer to pass immigration reform aka amnesty, teaming up with that Feingold to pass campaign reform, it goes on and on. McCain ought to be glad he's not on Medicare like the other peons and make a point to outlive the inevitable collapse of Obamacare.

I don't care for McCain at all, but I can't complain about his vote this time. The "skinny repeal" was a sham to make Republicans look like they had accomplished SOMETHING. His reasoning was faulty , as usual, but I can't complain about the vote.

It actually left in place everything that is the most onerous about obamacare.

    Disappointed on one hand.

BOTOH now Ocare will literally ROT on the VINE as the POTUS predicted which will leave the Dems trying to blame the GOP as the last organization withdraws (Kaiser Permanente?) from Ocare.

IMO - before 2020 Ocare will receive Last Rites be embalmed and buried and America will return to the pre-Obama days in terms of healthcare.

Had the Dems cooperated with the Republicans they might have been able to say at the end of the day : "ObamaCare lives on".

Obama's legacy has been destroyed by their (Dems) refusal to help. IMO of course.

I'm supposed to think John McCain was a war hero when he is a traitor in the Senate?

Who knew how Mccain would vote before he did?

    None other than Chuck Schumer.

It seems McCain informed him , but couldn't show the same sense of loyalty to his own party leaders. He's a really low class individual.

Right or wrong, John McCain is a good example of: giving up is not an option. His cannon is not as loose as the current POTUS. What would we be like after 5 1/2 years of communist brainwashing?

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

As much as I admired his courage (I didn't believe the allegations) of being a POW I cannot get passed this breach of promise.

Then again I am not a Republican but a FORMER JFK Democrat - now a small "i" independent betrayed by both major parties.

Not POTUS Trump. He has kept or honestly tried to keep his promises. Neil Gorsuch will be his legacy for decades (God willing).
