Can this be documented anywhere? If so it is a serious breach of not only Baptist Polity (Autonomy of the local church) but of the Convention bylaws themselves.

Definitely unkind and self-serving. "Evil" may be overstating it. Evil is posting lies; they are spreading the truth (in that he did post what they say he posted).

I can't argue that calling for him to be kicked out of the convention is completely inappropriate. There was nothing Heretical in his post, it was just an attempt at humor that was in poor taste (although one that made a satirical point about accusations). Removing him from his church is between him and his church.

Based on the quotes from Rick, the feeling was mutual.

I am sorry you feel that way about all Calvinists.
Some of us were atheist criminals when God intervened and simply find that the argument that "God first drew me" aligns with the empirical evidence of my salvation better than any argument that "I first chose to believe".

Hey, I have attended TWO Baptist Churches and know a retired Pastor from a Baptist Church in Chicago. I am not cherry-picking, that was 100% of my experience with the governance of Baptist Churches. 1 of 3 had what you describe as 'universal'.

Frankly, I grow tired of your frequent accusations of bad faith.
Count me out of this conversation.

    Ones that
    *decided times of services
*interview pastoral candidates before pulpit commtiee and congregation
*asking for resignations from staff without congregation knowledge
*have to approve any motion before it is introduced into a business meeting
    *approving pulpit supply pastor's
    *approving all other committees
*determining the translation used by the church
    *approving messages preached
    *determining church discipline
    *they directly supervise the pastor

I have seen all of these in an SBC church. Very common in many rural or "family" churches.

It's mission is to counter Calvism....."especially as the pressures of New Calvinism inch us ever closer to the Presbyterians. .....Southern Baptists do not need to be reformed"
-from Executive Director Rick Patrick. Connect 316 about us. And his messages certainly reflect this. Calling or comparing Calvinists to terrorists, rapists and "zoos" is certainly attacking.

"The Baptist Church is located midway between the Methodists and the Presbyterians. Theologically, this is where we find ourselves as well—and we are committed to maintaining this stance, especially as the pressures of New Calvinism inch us ever closer to the Presbyterians." It is on their website. "About us" Written by Patrick himself

Their mission is to oppose the advancement of Calvinism.

If I remember correctly, the statement referenced by McCree was made by Rick Patrick while preaching at SWBTS, rather than by the President of SWBTS. (But my memory has been known to err!)

It was Patterson, after Patrick was done. The You Tube video is up still. 1:06 mark

*well, guess that depends on which statement you are referring to. Patrick called Calvinism a Trojan Horse. Patterson implied Calvinist should be Presbyterian

It is easy to do. When it first happened there was a lot of confusion on who daid what. Patrick was the speaker, so it was easy to attribute the comments to him. Once SWBTS post the video, it cleared things up. Unfortunately it was the President who said it

So the evil work of the traditionalists is being exposed...as well as the foolish desperate persons who support them.
