GPS may not be establishing Special Relativity as is generally reported.

"It can be predicted that the crucial experiment will give a result contradicting the two principles of Special Relativity. The crucial experiment can be further simplified by using GPS, and it can be simulated easily with GPS simulators. Furthermore, the falsification of the two principles of Special Relativity and the calculations based on the GPS equation illustrate a new way for inertial navigation – measuring speed directly. A prototype of the new speedometer based on the crucial experiment is given."

This would mean the Einstein was wrong, and that Ptolemy vs Copernicus is still a valid question.

Time dilation is a physical fact. Do the math assuming it is not true.

Not if the results of the experiment falsify Special Relativity. (GR contradicts SR, btw.)

What was the error? You explain what it was.

GR has light traveling faster through a vacuum than the speed limit set in SR.

SR was created for one purpose only, to explain why the Michelson-Morely experiment failed to detect the revolution of the earth.

If you want to see the conflict between GR and SR just stick your head into a black hole. :)

Gravity is time dilation. And does not change the speed of light.

You what to have fun? In black hole theory sqr(1- 2GM/(rc^2) = sqr(1 - (v/c)^2), where mv^2/2=GMm/r. Notice the classical mv^2/2 which is classical calculation for kinetic energy as opposed to mc^2(1/sqr(1 - (v/c)^2) - 1) calculation for kinetic energy.

I was going through my bookmarks. SR has been falsified, and the interesting thing is, it was falsified by navigators, not by theoretical physicists.

    Article Abstract

Contrary to the assertion of Special Relativity, the speed of light is not always constant relative to a moving observer.

You know the old train car example? There's a train car with a passenger moving at near light speed. There's a single lamp in the center. The light is switched on. The passenger will see both ends of the car light up simultaneously.

At a RR crossing, another observer, stationary, watching the car go by at the moment the light is switched on, will see the back end of the car light up before the front end of the car.

The first time I heard that, my question was, "What really happened? What is the truth? Did light hit each end simultaneously or not?" The answer was there is no truth value in physical "laws." The "laws" of physics are only descriptions of what is observed. So both are 'true' descriptions of what happened.

    Thus, the genius of Einstein.

But, navigators want to know. They need to know. And they aren't buyin' the bullcrap. :)

Can you specify what the navigation evidence was for that belief? Wave length times frequency of light is its velocity. light travels at slower velocities in materials in which it passes through. How was time dilation being or not being taken into account?

How does he do that? Does he have eyes in the back of his head?

Sure, sure... Observers standing at RR crossings can see things traveling at near the speed of light as they pass by.
