Stephen I respectfully and emphatically say--and I say it to all of us, myself included--that warning bells should go off when someone says that they thought they were Baptist (or whatever), but then…. It sounds as if they were converted from one religion to another, rather than ever having come to faith in the living Christ.

I don’t know what you were taught before, but preaching one’s church rather than Jesus Christ is to preach a false Gospel no matter how good the church may seem. Salvation is not through the church, but rather Jesus adds to the church those being saved. Jesus is the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. I’ll leave it to others, but I suggest your Bible study may need to start there.

 

I say I WAS A "Baptist" because that is what my grandma was until she died, and because that was what I learned from 14-34. Between the age of 11-14 I attended Church of God and actually liked it.
I Baptized my 4 grandparents Unto Christ back in October because there is NTHER NAME GIVEN UNDER HEAVEN WHEREBY MAN CAN BE SAVED.!! And this can only be done in The Church OF JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints..

So you haven't said what you think your religion to be. Are you claiming to be a Baptist, and if so, Why.?!

As far as me Believing the Other Thing, I don't know.. I've not gotten to that section in my learning. We are learning the New Testament And I'm too busy searching other script to dwell on 38 Verses in Genesis. What verses are you referring to.?

I’m a Christian, but you should be able to see “Faith: Baptist” under my generic avatar. As I indicated, the starting place is Christ not church. But I suspect someone else can better discuss that with you, as I am unfamiliar with the differences in your Bible.

 

I am also not familiar with any differences, but instead am here to Concentrate on the Likeness of the Holy Scripture.

Well, you seem to be here because you left some form of Baptist church to become a member of the LDS church and are hoping others will accommodate that, which could only come through contention. You may feel you are contending with lies, but others will consider you to be advancing lies, that is, contending with the truth, and for good reason. Those differences in the Bible may prove profoundly significant. Your admission of unfamiliarity sounds like a red flag.

 

Stephen, in the modern world, this would be called a prime example of plagiarism. We have already established that Joseph Smith was plenty familiar with the Bible.

Biblically Speaking, There Is NO SUCH THING As A Baptist Religion.
There are Two Churches, One is of the Lamb Of GOD, The Other Is Of The Devil.
Both Cannot Be Of Jesus Christ.
