Are most Baptists creationists?

When theistic evolution denies Genesis 2:7 it is unbiblical.

 

Begs the Question, the "theist" don't deny it, they theorize how it fits with natural evolution.

 

Obviously theistic evolution if it is Biblically based can at that point depart from a purely naturalistic explanation on that point. After its kind would still apply. Man being made in the image of God would depart from the animal kingdeom at that point in that way of being in God's image.

 

Yes, hence my point earlier in this thread to the OPer of the importance of determining if the evolutionary theory in question is "theistic" or not being belief in Creation and belief in forms of evolution are not necessarily mutually exclusive. My point to Lucian is that (1) it is not necessarily an either/or, and (2) if someone did hold to Darwinian Evolution they were most likely throwing out faith in the Word of God, but not so with "Theistic Evolutionist', thus his question needs to be qualified.

 

Educated Baptists are both Creationists and accept evolution ("evolutionists"). In fact, a few Baptists are also evolutionists (i.e., study and research biology). The two are not mutually exclusive.

 

Sure. There are Baptists who believe in a lot of strange things. There are Baptists who deny the Trinity. There are Baptists who are Open Theists. Being a Baptist is not an inoculation against error.

Your bias is showing. Studying and researching biology does not equate to being an evolutionist, except wrt microevolution, which no one denies.

Being “educated” has nothing to do with whether someone believes a particular way. You might as well have said “indoctrinated,” and yes, it can work both ways.
