Gen. 3:15 - "And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.”

Let's get one thing straight: The "serpent's seed" is no the Kenites, as "Shepherd's Chapel" teaches. So, WHO ARE THEY? Is it simply all still-lost sinners? Is it some special group?

Matthew Henry writes about Genesis 3:15, "A perpetual quarrel is here commenced between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of the devil among men". Ephesians 2:1-3 alludes to this, "1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest." The spirit working in the sons of disobedience (unbelievers) places them on the side of (as Henry writes) "the kingdom of the devil among men."

Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; (KJV)

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (KJV)

Until we are adopted into the family of God, we are, by nature, children of the devil.

This could also have a literal application. There is a natural enmity between humans and snakes. There are exceptions, of course, but most (sane) people have a healthy respect for or fear of snakes. I saw a 3 1/2 foot copperhead while mowing on Monday. I gave it a wide berth.

Not to derail the thread, but that's a BIG copperhead! However, even one that size is no match for a weed eater.
