I am in North Jersey over July 4th week visiting my mom and some friends. I am a die-hard Met fan, which means I am used to losing. I have never been to CitiField but I am going tonight. Jacob deGrom is pitching, so the Mets actually have a chance at winning. Let's go Mets!

    Why go?

Isn’t it better to watch it on TV?

I take it you are not a Met fan. Consider it a pilgrimage of pain. I am predestined to go. LOL

Baseball is better in person than on the tube. The atmosphere is worth it. Enjoy it, Reformed.

Pete Alonso (1B) is an exciting young slugger.

The Mets have been shooting themselves in the foot lately with their roster management. Jacob deGrom is a very good pitcher. But I wonder about giving a pitcher that is 31 years old almost $29M a year over the next 6 years. That's going to come back and haunt them.

Maybe, but deGrom has half as many pitches in his arm than Max Scherzer or Justin Verlander. He started his baseball career as a shortstop and converted to pitcher. Plus, the Mets HAD to sign him. If they let a Cy Young winner leave it would have been a PR disaster.

Well, I'm a Phillies fan, so I can't really say "good luck". Of course, the way the Phillies are playing right now, I really don't think you'll need much luck.

Football - TV. Baseball - in person.

I actually enjoy the atmosphere just as much as the game (sometimes more than the game).

They are my second favorite team. My third favorite team is whoever is playing against UGA.

It was Seinfeld Night at CitiField. Everyone got a Seinfeld bobblehead and Jerry threw out the first pitch. Oh, and my Mets stunk up the place again.[IMG]

Judging by that photo you had pretty good seats, possible foul ball territory.

Alonso continued to excel, hitting a HR and a double.

It would be for me should I be invited to Yankee Stadium.

I think the oldest continuing club would probably be the best choice. :Biggrin
