I'm actually beginning to prefer the CSB to the NIV (the more I delve into it), but this is just my opinion, course.

I'd have to look them up, but if I recall, the CSB (or it might have been its predecessor) has some very, shall we say, unique, translations in their version.

I went to the CSB from the HCSB. LEB is my backup.

1984 Niv was better then either of them, but Csb marginally better of those 2!

Why is the CSB only marginally better?

Both seemed to be translated on the same basis, more of a dynamic one, but the Csb seems to not be quite as much into Inclusive language renderings as Niv 2011!

    Oh really?

"The apostles and elders met to consider this question. After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: "Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you" — NIV2011 (the New International Version)

"The apostles and the elders gathered to consider this matter. After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them: “Brothers and sisters, you are aware that in the early days God made a choice among you" — CSB (the SBC's 'Christian Standard' Bible)

    [Acts 15:6-7]

Doesn't the Greek word used there refer to both brothers and sisters though?

I actually do not object to translated brothers and sisters, has meant all saved now in Christ, but do have big problems when translators try best to neuter masculine terms in areas such as referring to leadership and authority.

Huh? Are you not taking a position on the translation there (Acts 15:6-7)?

I don't know whether to say
    "Get a Clue!(ney)"
or "bing! bing! bing! bing! Bing!

I use and prefer the CSB. I have never used or recommended the NIV.

See Galatians 3:26, in both the CSB and the NIV, for the opposite. Interesting!

Check out Galatians 3:26 in both the CSB and the NIV for the opposite effect.

And then check out Galatians 3:26 in the KJV!

    Thank you!
Yes, just look at Galatians 3:26-28...

    KJB (the King James Bible)
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

    NIV2011 (the New International Version)
"So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

    Ok.

    Now,

    CSB (the Christian Standard Bible)
"for through faith you are all sons of God in Christ Jesus. For those of you who were baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ. There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male and female; since you are all one in Christ Jesus."
