He as the sole Creator of all things become part of His creation when He was made flesh! John 1:14: John 1:10. So in His resurrection from the dead literally was "firstborn of all creation," Colossians 1:15. Colossians 1:18.

But, to clarify, you are not arguing that Jesus has not always existed correct?

Only when it concerns any criticism of the Niv 2011!

If you seen one, you've seen them all. All of the charts are outdated. They don't include newer translations and yet include very outdated ones.

Additionally the advice was a blend of so-so and wrong.

Don't be sorry. It just isn't appropriate in this forum. Any thread on any forum gets into logjams as it is.
It's best to stick with the topic of a given thread. Not that I have always stood by this principle all time myself.

Follow along. My remark had nothing to do with the above.

Except notice not all of those charts are the same. But you are spouting out a lot. What makes you an expert?

It was pertinent to the topic because it was clarifying why they thought certain translations were not faithful to the text. Thanks.

Charts. The word is in the plural. Yes, there were several charts. They were not the same. But they were outdated and the positions of the various translations were out of line.
A lot of reading, but I have never claimed to be an expert.

You seem to be one whenever any one decides to go against the 2011Niv though!

Colossians 1:16-17 as the uncaused Creator of all things, incuding His incarnation. Where as Colossians 1:15 and Colossians 1:18 refers to Him being the resurrected incarnate Christ.

Jesus being the Son of God, the Word/Logos, is the uncaused Cause on behalf of the Father, Ephesians 3:9. In His incarnation became part of He creation. Colossians 1:15 refers explicitly to Him being God's image and the resurrected Christ.

Colossians 1:15, ". . . Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation," NLT has for ". . . He is the firstborn of all creation." Cofusing His incarnate resurrection for His prexistence as Creator.
