    Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse
    All your money, talent, time, and love
    Consecrate them all upon the altar...

    All I know is, I am quite tired of it since I was always the one who had to play the drum part in it in high school orchestra every year, with a spotlight on me, no less. That was because I was the better orchestral drummer at that time, better than the guys.

    I recognize this thread. It is a seasonal tradition.

    I do not care for the song, but it is Christian because the song is about people giving all they have to Christ. It is a story about a little drummer boy who has nothing but a song to give.

    In retrospect, the drummer man realized he could have preformed at a few bar mitzvahs and bought some spices to give. But by then it was too late.

    The widow's mite was acceptable. It's not the gift but rather the heart of the giver. God looks on the heart, not the outward quality/quantity.
