Do you believe in the Virgin birth of Christ?

If you don't believe in the virgin birth, then how can you believe that Christ is the only begotten Son of God? And if He is not that, then how could He have saved us?

A Jesus who is not the result of a virgin birth is the wrong Jesus...

I put "unsure" for no. 2 because I think someone can become a Christian without understanding, knowing about, or maybe not even believing the virgin birth. When I became a Christian, I did not even think about it, and if someone had asked me at that time if I believed in it, I might have said no or possibly that I didn't know.

However, I think in time a person who has trusted Christ should come to believe it because the Bible presents it that way and it relates so strongly to Jesus.

I could not have stated it better.Mary never knew man. God did send His only begotten Son to die upon The Cross Of Calvary so that all our past and present sins would be paid in full IF ONLY we accept His salvation.

A person could believe in the eternal generation of the Son (begetting) as stated in the Nicene Creed:

"We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,

Yes, I belive in the virgin birth, sadly may - even baptists - deny it.
Can someone be a christian without beliving the virgin birth? again, yes. Salvation depends on what God has done, not on someone passing their theology exam. One would hope and pray that as a person grew in the faith he/she will see the truth in scripture of the virgin birth.

The virgin birth (and His Divinity) separates the Lord Jesus from everyone else. Without the virgin birth what you have is a Jesus that cannot save you.
As for the second question, that is hard to say. However, I believe that if you are born again; then you are a child of God and will be led into the truth.

I see the issue as this:

1) Denial of the virgin birth will not exclude you from salvation.

2) Denial of the deity of Christ WILL exclude you from salvation.

The problem is, many who deny the virgin birth are not far from denying the deity of Christ.

One that wouldn't accept the virgin birth of Christ, would at the very best be saved, but couldn't depend on the Bible as a living organism that is infallable in its soul filling nourshment for us. One either believes it or one does not.

But frankly I don't see someone being a believer for any length of time, that could deny that very basic tenet.

Exactly -- How do I pick and choose what's in the Bible that's true? If I don't believe this, how do I know that something else is true?

We don't have to know much to get started in our Christian walks, but growth after salvation sure is nice
