Is repentance an aspect of faith, or is repentance a good work?

There are some Christians, even on the Baptist Board, who reject the Bible's Teaching that a sinner must first "repent and believe", before they can be saved. They wrongly understand "repenting" as a "merited work", rather than the sinner doing what God has Commanded for their salvation.

This short video clip by Reformed teachers discusses what the Bible says on "repentance and faith", for salvation

Repentance is a part of belief. It is not a work but a change of mindset which produces works.

I think of repentance as an about face. Belief focuses on what you turn to. Repentance focuses on what you turn from.

True Biblical repentance is what Paul describes as "godly sorrow" (2 Corinthians 7:10); and what David prayed in Psalm 38:18, "For mine iniquity I declare, I am sorry for my sin" (YLT)

so God does the repenting for the sinner? If God "gives" the sinner the "means" for them to repent, then it is not the sinner that repents, but God for them! This is absurd!

God enables the person to repent and believe

we do not have that capability in and of outselves

What’s absurd is that you and others think that unregenerate man can do anything at all pleasing to a thrice Holy God

it we can repent and believe on our own then we need not Christ, the Holy Spirit nor grace

bTW, mercy means that until God does something for us/to us, we have no hope

yes that indeed is absurd that a Holy God would entertain anything of sinful man - that is absurd and probably going to be twisted by you to mean something that is not meant by me

God grants repentance, THEN one can recover from the snare of the devil:

23 But foolish and ignorant questionings refuse, knowing that they gender strifes.
24 And the Lord`s servant must not strive, but be gentle towards all, apt to teach, forbearing,
25 in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth,
26 and they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him unto his will. 2 Tim 2

...those Jewish Christians that fell away back to the apostate system that murdered Christ were NEVER to be granted repentance from God:

4 For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5 and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come,
6 and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Heb 6

...which I believe to be related to this offense to which no repentance was to be granted:

31 Therefore I say unto you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. Mt 12

Dude please get your facts right before misquoting the Bible. The passages that you quoted are for those who OPPOSE the Gospel Message

Dude please get your facts right before misquoting the Bible. These are opposing themselves, NOT the gospel. If you feel the need to stoop to such dishonesty handling the word of God then you should repent with godly sorrow, if God allows it.

Again...
Cause and effect is so very important.

Who causes our salvation?
Is it God or is it us humans?

If God is the cause, then our response of repentance is the effect of His good work.

Requiring dead in sins people to cause their wicked thoughts to change is like requiring a volcano to change and become a lake.
