If it is not inconvenient, could you quote the whole paragraph so we can see what he is saying? Does he mean where p4 exists in 96 verses they agree 90%??

It is impossible for p75 and B as a whole comparison to be that high. I don’t have the information handy but I am sure it is 78%.
True, that is very high for alexandrian witnesses, virtually unheard of. The alexandrian exception.

Delighted to hear that p4 has such high agreements, but we need the context of exactly what he is comparing?

JD731, you fail to demonstrate that the Greek noun translated in the KJV as singular is actually singular in number in the Greek New Testament.

You seem to be assuming based merely on the English translation in the KJV, and you do not prove that assumption to be true. Other posters contradict your unproven assumption.

When you start with an unproven and non-true assumption, you will jump to a wrong conclusion.

"The text of P4 exhibits over 90% agreement with both P75 and B. The agreements are not for all the same variants, however. The singular readings of P4 account for almost all of its deviations from both witnesses. The readings that remain consist of minor variations. P4 and P75 are identical in forty complete verses with only five significant variants lying between them." (p.126)

"Discovered in Coptos and dating to the early third/perhaps late second century, P4 preserves about ninety-six verses of Luke's Gospel. The unmistakable marks of its early Christian readership appear on its leaves. Section divisions, punctuation marks, and omission signs permeate its text. Editorial features fall within the purview of the copyist; the manuscript's usage appears to be public rather than private, produced in a controlled setting." (p.125)

"The text of P75 is remarkably close to that of B. The two manuscripts agree over 90% of the time. P75 and B are also the sole witnesses for a large number of readings -- readings once considered singular prior to P75's discovery. B is not a direct descendant of P75, however. Differing line lengths and significant textual variations rule this out. The text of Luke in each manuscript appears to derive from a common ancestor reaching back to the second century. Both witnesses are firmly grounded in the Alexandrian tradition, evident even by their disagreements. Wherever the readings of P75 and B diverge, P75 finds support from other Alexandrian witnesses, including the Coptic." (p.132)

"Of all the ancient manuscripts of the New Testament, P75 and B present the most intimate relationship. P75 is closer to B than any other manuscript (the agreement between B and P75 in John is 92 percent, reaching a high of 96 percent in chapter 12). Both seem to originate from a common ancestor (B is not a copy of P75), which should date back at least to the second century, but has not been preserved." (p.149)

Luke 1.35, Acts 8.37, 1 Timothy 3.16 and 1 John 5.7 are more than enough reasons for the Superiority of the KJV over those you mention

    No I am NOT KJVO!

I have studied textual criticism for almost 40 years and have no doubt that the verses that I gave are the Originals. All of them have very early textual evidence, much earlier than the Greek manuscripts

Thank you for taking the time. It is greatly appreciated. I tried to find some quick references at work but they all support you. If I find my references I will report back. But we will go with your sources unless proven otherwise. Thanks again. Remarkable agreement between the 2.
