Back in 1941 - the USA entered WWII because Japan bombed us.
We also declared war on Germany - but they did not invade us.
Germany only invaded European countries... so why did we go to Europe???

Was it not in response to many requests from the UK to enter the war?

no, we declared war on Japan afterr Pearl Harbor, axis pal Hitler then declared war on the US. FDR wanted to go to war, but the doves in Congress said no, London was bombed into oblivion.
Oh, I beg to differ. That's all he's concerned with, why he threw a fit at the mere thought of Ukraine joining NATO:

How NATO's expansion helped drive Putin to invade Ukraine : NPR

can't send troops, even setting up a no-fly zone could be considered an act, declaration of war. Vlado told Macron he wanted all of Ukraine but that would be putting NATO on their new border. I think he wants all of the old soviet bloc.

We declared war on Germany in response to their formal declaration of war on us.

correct - but we could put that on the back burner and be more concerned on Japan.

If it helps, there is no human government worth fighting for. Just pack up your essentials and drive away to a place of peace.

Some say they dont think we should fight for Europe.

Hmmmm So maybe France (and some Germans) should not have fought for the USA during our War of Independence.

    We repaid the favor twice.
Salty, my problem is that the EU could easily handle Russia in a military conflict if they would spend more on military and less on social welfare. Why are we expected to do the military spending to protect Europe? Membership in NATO should require a minimum percentage of GDP be spent on military.
The European nations have good hardware, they just don't make enough of it.

Nuclear blackmail is the stock and trade of dictatorial thugs. Let me have this weak area, or I will respond with nukes.

Question, if you cannot stop invasion because the area is never going to worth the risk of nuclear war, how do you stop invasion. Answer - you do not. You settle for slavery to evil.

Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
    ~ 1 Peter 2:11-12

Christians have no obligation to fight for any human government. Historically, Christians should seek peace and pray for peace. In this area Mennonites have been correct.
If you want to fight, then note that you are not fighting for God.

Officially, no. Though sending boots is a good idea. Also, sending ammo, weapons, and equipment is good. I see Ammoland in Wisconsin has sent (on its own dime) one million rounds of AK ammo to Kyiv.

Would God have failed to accomplish his will in any other way?
Sadly, there were Christians who hated Japanese people without a care for their souls. Just pure hatred, because they saw themselves first as US citizens and second as Christians. Mennonites had to stop speaking German in the US for fear of reprisal by other Christians.
So, do what your conscience tells you to do, but don't think it is an act of obedience to God.

sending ammo won't do very much, as Ukraine is hugely out numbered by the Russians. They need air support urgently. Problem is once another country gets involved, it will no doubt escalate to a much wider, and more deadly conflict, which the West has not got the stomach for.

and if we did not get involved - then those on the West Coast would be speaking Japanese
and those on the East Coast would be speaking German
