News breaking that a group of FBI agents from Washington DC are in process of raiding Trump’s Mara-largo home in Florida.

Trump revealed the raid on social media and DOJ has confirmed.

Apparently, they are looking for classified documents the National Archives folks believed should have been given to them.

Trump claims they have broken into his safe.

What are the ramifications of this action for immediate future (mid-terms and 2024) and the precedent set for incoming administrations to launch investigations into their predecessors?

Additionally, what judge approved this warrant and what are the chances the raid will be halted by a higher court?

    peace to you

Since the POTUS has the authority to declassify any document he wants, this issue certainly seems to better suited for adjudication in federal courts.

Given we are in the middle of an election year and 18 months removed from a Trump presidency, this raid will cause a great amount of political upheaval in the near term, imo.

Will it motivate repubs? Dems? How will independents and swing voters view this?

    peace to you

Personally I think they are trying to get conservatives to retaliate with their “assault” weapons & then declare martial law from now to eternity!!
I don’t put ANYTHING beyond their ability and/or their approval to retain power.
It just may come to the point of the above, but let them start it.

They are trying to find a way to stop him from running legally. Since the faux Jan 6 committee didn't work as there will be no criminal referrals from them they need something else.

"Based on what we now know, it was totally unjustified, even one FBI agent would have been too many," said Alan Dershowitz, a professor at Harvard Law School who served on Trump's legal team for the president's first impeachment case. "The whole process was wrong and Trump was away at the time, so they can't say he was going to destroy anything."

Legal scholars note that when individuals previously violated the law regarding classified documents, the Justice Department has opted to either not prosecute or settle for lesser charges.

"The Presidential Records Act is not commonly a subject of criminal prosecution, even in the most egregious cases," said Jonathan Turley, a professor at the George Washington University Law School. "These incidents have generally been handled administratively."

In 2004, for instance, the DOJ prosecuted former Clinton-era National Security Adviser Sandy Berger for the unauthorized removal and destruction of classified material from the National Archives. The former NSA adviser removed from the National Archives five copies of a report detailing the Clinton administration's handling of a series of unsuccessful terror attacks planned by al Qaeda for the 2000 millennium.

Berger, who removed copies of the report by stuffing them in his pants and socks, was sentenced to only two years probation and stripped of his security clearance for three years.

"These cases overall have not been subject to aggressive criminal prosecution in the past," said Turley.

In February, Trump handed the record-keeping agency 15 boxes of documents from the estate, including official correspondence between Trump and foreign heads of state.

"After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate," the former president said in a statement. Trump's representatives had informed the archives that they are continuing to search for additional Presidential records that belong to the National Archives

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who served as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency before serving as secretary of state, slammed the FBI raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home Monday, highlighting the disparity between that raid and the treatment of former presidential candidate and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The FBI’s raid was revealed by Trump in a statement on Monday and reports indicated that the raid revolved around supposed classified documents.
“Executing a warrant against ex-POTUS is dangerous,” Pompeo tweeted. “The apparent political weaponization of DOJ/FBI is shameful. AG must explain why 250 yrs of practice was upended w/ this raid. I served on Benghazi Com where we proved Hilliary (sic) possessed classified info. We didn’t raid her home.”

Communists have been raiding opposition groups for almost a century now. Nothing new.

The FBI has merely outed itself as the enforcement arm of the Democrat/Communist party with all the authority and enforcement ability that comes with that position.

What is odd is you think this is an equivalent example just because you used the word "government officials".

That nugget of intrigue came from The Miami Herald:

On October 23, 2007, as federal prosecutors in South Florida were in the midst of tense negotiations to finalize a plea deal with accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, a senior prosecutor in their office quietly laying out plans to leave the U.S. attorney's office after 11 years.

On that date, as emails were flying between Epstein's lawyers and federal prosecutors, Bruce E. Reinhart, now a federal magistrate, opened a limited liability company in Florida that established what would become his new criminal defense practice.

The stated address, according to Florida state corporate records: 250 South Australian Ave., Suite 1400. It was the same location, and identical suite number, as that of Epstein's lead attorney, Jack Goldberger.

By the end of the year, Reinhart had resigned his post in the Southern District of Florida. Within Days, on Jan. 2, 2008, he was hired to represent several of Epstein's accused accomplices who would later, like Epstein, receive federal immunity for allegedly trafficking underage girls.

So, Reinhart switched from working for the government and prosecuting Jeffrey Epstein and his associates for sex trafficking to... representing Jeffrey Epstein's employees accused of sex trafficking against the government, a successful effort that saw his clients get immunity.

Brother, that would be dumb. Don’t they know, aren’t they aware that groups like the World Economic Forum are not on anyones side but the oligarchs and the Health Care & big pharmaceutical companies… so it is they who really want to spread discontent, among conservatives & leftist alike. And climate change will be the vehicle to do it with. Watch out for up in coming global food shortages that (fictional or not) will cause panic among the sheeple… panic in the street. Food Shortages will indeed occur.

You all seem to misjudge how much the vast majority of people hate Donald Trump.
First, if the Republicans are stupid and nominate Trump, it is a guarantee the Democratic party wins the executive office in a landslide.
Second, if Trump somehow won the election, he would likely be assassinated in short order because there are far too many people who hate him. Trump would have to live in a bunker for 4 years and that might not even be enough to protect him.

This kind of extremism has no place in American politics, much less among Christians.

Please do not project your TDS upon the “vast majority of people”

    Shameful, just plain shameful.

    peace to you

be careful, Deep State may be trying to provoke so they can justify declaring martial law and try to suspend the midterms.

I remember they used to try to say Merriick Garland was a moderate when he's really more like Eric Holder, a far-left jackboot. And that magistrate that okayed the raid is an Obama donor and Epstein was his client. Deep state, they are terrified of Donald Trump, this is desperation plain and simple.
