My family are particularly grateful to our dog Blue for his presence in our family this year. We had lost my dog Kip over a year ago now and debated getting another dog. Blue is a white boxer with deep blue eyes in need of rescue and so we decided to spring him from the cage he was locked in… and we have never been happier. He has really helped my wife to get up and walk providing her the extra she to fight her cancer.

    Thanks Blue!

Here is an article about the Boxer breed I found on the internet. Now I’ve had many breeds of dogs, all good, but I’ve got to admit a partiality to this Boxer breed. They having something very special that’s irreplaceable.

IME, Boxers make friendly good natured companions, good family dogs, especially with kids. Most I've been around are a little too hyper and attention needy for me. I like mellow, low-key dogs that don't require a lot of attention or supervision. But, to each his own. :)

Plenty of breeds to choose from.

My favorite is a pitbull mix. Reggie is the only one I've had of this type, but they are great dogs.

Only negative is they are "Velcro dogs'. They always want to be with you...like, right there with you. On the couch beside you, in the car beside you, outside the bathroom door when you shower....

Well my wife and I both grew up with animals... He memories are dogs and cats, my memories are just cats but the place we live now doesn't allow them, so we don't have one... My wife didn't want a bird although a bird is ok but other animals are not... So the grandkids knowing her plight bought her a betta fighting fish and after much care, one month later it died:Frown... So her one son has two King Cavalier Spaniels and her other son has a cat... So she dotes on them every time we visit and there are many in our neighborhood, of different critters... Then again we don't have to worry, or care about any animals, we both have two legged companions... Each other!... Brother Glen:)

I’m trying to get mine to make the coffee.. especially at 4am when he has to go out and eat. I think that’s the least he can do.

My family always had a dog, when I was a kid,
but now we live in a trailer court - and dogs are not allowed.

My uncle Nick had one that would heard his flock of sheep and was very good at it. My son had 3 big dogs, (I think Kagels) to guard the sheep from coyotes and black bear… they stayed out here all night and they were fearless.

Kangels are what we have, they protect our free range chickens on six acres, low key mellow dogs (until the switch gets flipped), they lay around sensing everything with their ‘radar’ which is very acute, and they are very loving lovable dogs.

Yes my son never had any problems with them… but the bear did. The thee would gang up on him/ her whatever. Kept the bear away and the sheep safe. Good guardians! I like performance dogs, they have jobs to do. My Irish Setter was a great hunter of birds, the German Shepherd watched after the chickens when they free ranged yada yada. This Boxer seems to want to watch over the wife… dogs are cool!
