Seeking Unity

One important factor in healing our nation, is to focus on our differing policies rather than disparaging those on the other side as akin to evil doers of the past.

The problem of course is if you cannot run on your record or policies, you change the subject to the character of those on the other side, meaning you say they are bad people, a threat to goodness. And to support this avenue some misrepresent what the opponents actual positions are. For example, "Trump wants to ban abortions" rather than he favors allowing abortions in several circumstances such as to save the life of the mother.

Obviously unity will prove elusive if commitment to truth goes by the wayside. But if we do our best to present truth as we know it, rather than based on hear-say or fabricated misrepresentations, we could make real progress.

Your claims are all subjective and your abortion example will not be resolved politically, rather socially and with much debate.

In other words, "taint so."

The axiom that people need to speak truth in order to work in unity is not subjective.

The abortion example illustrated one side was not presenting truth, thus precluding unity.

If you proceed with that logic then your objective will certainly be a disaster with no chance of resolution. What will you do then, perhaps fall on your sword?!?

LOL, EWF seems to claim, although not stated explicitly, that to believe people must be honest with one another to work together in unity is wrong. I kid you not.

I do rest my case on the sword as defined in Ephesians 6:17.
