JD, I’m going to stay on the single question I asked.
Where does Scripture state that the church began at the resurrection? Not infer it. Not construct it. Not assemble it from multiple doctrines. State it.
Anthony, I must say your argument does not make much sense but if you want to believe it I am not arguing against it no more that you are arguing for it. You are spending your time explaining why I am wrong, not why you are right.
6. Scripture does explicitly place the church before the resurrection. Christ said during His earthly ministry:
“I will build My church.” (Matt. 16:18)
And in Luke 6:13 He:
called the apostles,
gathered them,
named them,
and constituted them as the foundation stones (Eph. 2:20).
That is the first assembly under Christ’s authority. Nothing in Scripture says:
“The church began at the resurrection.”
7. So the question remains unanswered.
Colossians 1:18 does not say the church began at the resurrection.
Acts 13 does not say the church began at the resurrection.
Romans 8 does not say the church began at the resurrection.
Psalm 2 does not say the church began at the resurrection.
You have given interpretations, not a text.
So I will restate the question plainly:
What verse says the church began at the resurrection?
If Scripture states it, cite the verse.
If Scripture does not state it, then it is not a biblical claim.
I will give you more passages that tells us the church began after the resurrection of Jesus Christ but it will not change your mind and you will not believe it. Your mind is made up and I can see that.
Acts 11:1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
2 And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem,
11 And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.
12 And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house:
13 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us
at the beginning.
16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
This does not prove my theological position, it proves God said the beginning was when men began receiving the Holy Ghost into their bodies by faith to save them. This took place for the gentiles in AD 40, ten years after the initial pouring out on the Jews at Jerusalem. Peter had the keys to the door of faith and he unlocked the door to the Jews, the Samaritans and now, the gentiles. He was given these keys in MT 16 and if you do not believe he used these keys read what the other apostles said about it a few years later in Acts 15 after the first missionary journey to the gentiles.
Acts 14:27
And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how
he had opened the
door of faith unto the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
Peter said this at the apostolic counsel in Jerusalem;
Acts 15:7 And when there had been much disputing,
Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
13 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
14
Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the gentiles
One should read the whole context.
Jesus Christ is the head of the church at his resurrection and sinners began to be added to it when God poured out the Holy Ghost from heaven and men began being born again as sons of God by faith in what Jesus did for them.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day
there were added unto them about three thousand souls. (added to the the apostles and prophets who had received the Spirit in John 20 at the day of the resurrection)
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
The gift is the promise of the Holy Ghost to abide in the believer and that was impossible without the death of Christ because only innocent blood could atone for sin and the blood of Christ satisfied God's righteousness for us all who will come to him through Jesus Christ for salvation.
Isahre more about this marvelous truth later.
Acts 10:
34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all

37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
! Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
There is one church, one body, one family and it began after the resurrection of Jesus Christ and because of it. Jesus Christ was the firstborn son of God from the dead, from which we all were born who are in the body.
Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved).
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
I have more to say on this subject, but meanwhile, Praise the Lord Jesus for what he has done.
