What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

Yes, I agree, it's good to have an exchange the way it should be. I know we all have our differences on what gets us into heaven or keeps us out, that is sad above all that I can imagine. We can't be passive when it comes to salvation, this is eternity we're talking about. God expects us to...

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

Yes, we disagree. I remember Paul telling the Galatians "you have fallen from Grace" when the Judaists came and convinced them they couldn't be saved unless they were circumcised. Of course I seriously doubt we agree on what this means.

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

Well, I guess we disagree, but that's nothing new around here. Another reason I believe what I believe is found in Rom. 4:14, "For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:" Some say the Law here only applies to the exact Law of Moses, I...

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

It's all the ones we add to faith in Christ as mandatory for salvation. Whatever that may be. Rom. 11:6 "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work." Anything and everything...

It's Tough Being a IFB Believer

Of course they can be saved if they meet the requirement of repentance and faith in Christ from the heart. God didn't require for man to understand the Trinity to be saved.

Ok, find in your heart to forgive me.

It's Tough Being a IFB Believer

Faith in the finished work of Christ is a doctrine. But that is the doctrine I separated from the rest of the doctrines needed for salvation. No doctrine can save man, only faith in Christ and what He did for us. (separating this doctrine from all others)

    In Perils Among False Brethren;

I hope you don't think that because I disagree with Calvinism I'm an enemy of the Cross. It's not a particular doctrine that saves, faith in the finished work of Christ saves the soul from the wrath to come.

It's Tough Being a IFB Believer

Amen Brother! God didn't demand correct doctrine for the saving of the soul. He demanded faith in the finished work of His Son!

"The Meaning of Foreknew in Romans 8:29"

When God made this promise to the Hebrew children, He knew they would perish in the wilderness in unbelief. But yet He still stived with them in much long-suffering. Paul tells us they did not enter into His rest, and tells us to be careful in having a heart of unbelief if they did not enter...

"The Meaning of Foreknew in Romans 8:29"

Throughout the journey in the wilderness God continuously made promises to the people in what He would do for them if they would obey Him. We are not given a narrative of all that happened in the wilderness, just as we are not given a narrative of all that Christ did in the Gospels. Verses...

"The Meaning of Foreknew in Romans 8:29"

No, I'm afraid they won't. It's a dagger in the heart of Sovereign Grace.

"The Meaning of Foreknew in Romans 8:29"

Don't feel like arguing this stuff over and over. It's not good for the spirit to continue all the time in these arguments.

"The Meaning of Foreknew in Romans 8:29"

Here's an example of what I'm saying. God charges them with their sins and then pleads for them to return to Him in obedience. Isaiah 1:16-20 " Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the...

"The Meaning of Foreknew in Romans 8:29"

When God "pleaded" with the Hebrews in the wilderness and at any other time, He is bringing them "face to face" with their sin and rebellion. That's how it is translated by some as judgment. God is pleading, showing them their faults while imploring them to return to Him in obedience.
