What mans religion teaches about faith and repentance !

I rest my case on the Calvinists being unlearned in Scripture!

You can believe whatever you want, I really don't care, Van!

The scholars make the argument that Paul said , it was necessary that the Word of God be first spoken unto you, referring to the Jews. This is "tasso" being placed in order in one sense of the word. But the Jews were not prepared to receive the Word, but the Gentiles were.

If you look at the definitions you will see several options depending on the context. In this verse "tasso" means to be prepared to eternal life, as many scholars have stated. Look at vs. 46 where Paul tells the Jews who would not believe, that since you find yourselves unworthy of...

What mans religion teaches about faith and repentance !

As I've said before, it's unbelievable how so very unlearned the Calvinist is to the Word of God! My 7 year old granddaughter understands the only way to God is through faith and repentance. It's written everywhere in Scripture, but you turn a blind Calvinist eye!

You've already been shown that "tasso" doesn't mean what you think it does. If they had been chosen for eternal life as you assume, Luke would have used the word "ekloge," Or a form of that word.

Is God Patient With His Decree?

God's grace is NOT irresistible. If it were the Scripture wouldn't say, "today, if you hear His voice, harden not your hearts." This is a clear request not to resist God. I'm a 1 point Calvinist, I can't go any further that totally depraved.

What mans religion teaches about faith and repentance !

Faith and repentance are the conditions that must be met to be justified. God doesn't tap you on the shoulder and declare you justified! You must repent and believe. Why do you think the Scripture says, "He has commanded all men everywhere to repent?"

Is Spiritual death a Biblical Concept then?

Yes, I can see that if I don't agree with you, I'm wrong, lol.

Is God Patient With His Decree?

That's a very good question, Aaron, I thought I'd butt in and throw in my 2 cents worth. When Christ asked the disciples who do you say that I am, Peter said, you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Then Christ said, flesh and blood hath not revealed this to you, but my Father which is...

So, as usual Jon. we disagree.

Is Spiritual death a Biblical Concept then?

I certainly see the audience as saved but not progressing, babes in Christ. Paul makes that clear in 5:11-14. He didn't want to embarrass them, but he had to let them know that they had been saved long enough to know these things but they didn't know. "Of whom we have many things to say, and...

Is Spiritual death a Biblical Concept then?

Yes, that dog will hunt! Paul is showing them the possibilities of departing from Christ. Departing from Christ begins with a heart leaning toward unbelief. He has already addressed them as "Brethren, partakers of the Heavenly calling." But hey, Jon, you believe whatever you like, no skin...

Nothing but hot air because you don't know what you're talking about! And you keep on and on proving it!
