Well, what happened to all the millions we have been sending all these years, Mr. Carter?

Does this man really live on this planet?

Perhaps Carter's buddy Castro would like to chip in. I've always thought of him as a goofball, a non-president, and this just underscores my opinion. He should stick to building houses and stay out of politics. Good grief.

"The elections were completely honest, completely fair, completely safe and without violence," the former president said.

Yeah, the violence happened after the elections......

I say we save the money, & buy some missles with it.

Carter is an idiot. Always has been. We will send money to the Palestinians when they take action (not words) to prove that they can live in peace with Israel. Until then, I say, take away the money we are giving them currently and give it to us here at home. I think we could use the money right now. Reciprocity will bring peace, not money. Not land. Not empty words.

    Recirocity and Accountability.

I can't believe that this man is actually revered by many. Even worse, I can't believe that I voted for this man, back when I was young, idealistic, and liberal. May God forgive me!

After reading the article I wonder if he feel that by funding them it might keep the violence down. The US does that a lot with other countries. When countries depend on another in a sense it buys peace while the dependency exists.

Nope. Carter is wrong, he is always wrong. You can know which side to be on by opposing his side.

    BC,

Or some tanks for Israel. I also agree with JB, that we should hold back any money that is currently slated to go to them until they can prove they are other than a bunch of terrorist animals (though I'm not sure how they can do that since they've already proven that they are terrorist animals).

God has forgiven you, and so have we, EL. [IMG]

rsr, why is Carter right? Why should a "party" that has killed dozens or more of innocent Israelis be given anything but a cold, watchful eye? Their goal has been the destruction of Israel. Why should the West's response be to help them survive in power? Why should their people, supportive of such ruthless murder, be given anything by the West?

Carter has done great things for the poor and homeless, but he's still as incompetent at politics as he was when he was President.

I agree with Condoleeza Rice. Democratic countries should not offer or provide any aid to a government that's as hostile as Palestine is towards the U.S. and Israel. They have a right to govern themselves, but if they want to be part of the global community, they need to get along and to contribute to the peace process.

I lived in Georgia when Carter was governor. He didn't even carry his own state when he ran for the Presidency. I served under him while in the Army, and during that time we had double digit inflation, double-digit unemployment, long gas lines, and were scared to death of the Soviet Union. Our military pay was frozen until election year, but we didn't forget how much Carter (dis)respected the military. It took a real leader, Ronald Reagan - God bless him - to turn around our domestic and foreign policies.

Sans any solid references, we should refrain from making rumorous statements.

However, I concur with JB on this topic 100% in regards to reciprocity. But I don't think Carter is an idiot. He's just ill-equipped to speak on this topic.

I agree with Condi as well. My only question is whether or not America has, itself, led the way in doing what we are calling on other nations to do yet.

What do you expect from a man who denies Christ and the Bible?

As to the 'idiot' statement- God agrees!

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Jimmy Carter was one of the smartest presidents we have ever had. Unfortunately, that did not translate into his being effective as president.

It will be interesting to see which nations contribute financial support to the Hamas led government of the Palestians. I am tipping that several countries will bankroll them based on their own dislike of Israel.
