I worked on the plumbing in a catholic "church", but I left several Gospel tracts in their brochure case, before I left, I asked the catholic janitor if Mary was who they said she is, then why didn't she know where Jesus was instead of frantically looking for him in the caravan?

I was told that I had best watch what I said around there or I might get hurt! My reply to that was, he should find out who Jesus really is and that Mary ,too, had to get saved. I then suggested he ask Jesus to be his personal Saviour, he reacted with a confused look, then I went further to tell him he could know he was saved and have apersonal relationship with Christ.

I also preached the Gospel at a "catholic"/Methodist/Baptist funeral: my aunt's funeral. She was Baptist. My family is the other ones so mixed up.

I probably lost a few of the "Brethren" doing those things, but I don't care, God told me to go into all the world teaching and preaching,baptizing them. The "Brethren" never did much for me anway but give me a hard time for not being exactly like them!

 

Wouldn't do those things either - but I will be there.

 

I was raised Baptist, and attended a few "community" worship services as a child at the local RC church.

Since then, the only time I've been in a Catholic church since, was for a friend's wedding.

But I've never participated in the mass - as a kid raised exclusively in evangelical Protestant churches, I wouldn't have known what to do, anyway! Today, I do know what to do, and I reject it.

 

I went to a high-mass wedding. I almost forgot who the bride and groom were by the time it was over.

 

Does the Bible tell us to have fellowship with the false church? Mine sure doesn't. What concord hath Christ with Belial?

I have seen many funeral processions from the Catholic Church near where I lived for 23 years. Every single one had a K of C or more going into the building or coming out of it in full regalia.

By attending the funeral, you are supporting the false church whether you think so or not.

 

I also attended a Catholic wedding and Mass many years ago. I was about six and my only lingering memory of it is that it was very long. One great thing about Baptist weddings is that they are usually right to the point.

 

Yes, I went to a midnight mass before Easter several years ago and I also went to a memorial mass for Pope John Paul II.

I must admit some fondness for incense.

I don't think they'd burn you at the stake -- maybe just strap some of those little burning incense thingies on you OR they might just partner you with someone who wears waaaayyyy tooo much perfume *cough*

 

The Roman Catholic Church is not a christian denomination by a long shot. And the Bible commands us to reveal the false prophets and their doctrines. Nothing 'ad hominem' about my statements at all.

I watched though in horror as my sister, who is a new Christian, walk up with her son to receive their conjured up abomination, their fake eucharist.

I had to straighten her out on that in the limo.

Yes, I have attended a Catholic Mass since I became a Baptist.

 

The Catholic Mass is different.

In the Mass, Catholics believe that the offering of such Mass is efficacious toward the forgiveness of sins through a sin offering of the "bloodless sacrifice" of Christ again being offered by their priest. That is why they are called priests and not pastors.

They also use a form of witchcraft (unknown to them though) to try to conjure up Christ into their eucharist, and then offer the same to the congregation as a means of slow salvation. This makes a mockery of the Gospel, and is indeed "another Gospel" as described in Gal. 1:6-8.

I was raised in a Catholic family, and went to Catholic school for eight years. I know what I'm talking about.

However I see no problem in going to a wedding or a funeral of a close relative if Communion isn't taken, and if the Mass is held in your mind as the abomination that it truly is.

I recommend praying for those that are lost there, and for yourself as the demon activity inside is going to be massive. (No pun intended). I felt this myself as my mom's funeral.

I don't see how that affects whether or not I should be with my Christian friend when his Catholic mother dies.

They are not going to change the funeral for him and he will alienate the family to the gospel by not going. I am his friend, I will be there with him. Neither of us will participate in the mass and everyone knows why.

The KofC thing must be American - never seen it at the several funerals I have been to here, or processions leaving the churches.

Of course in today's setting I would be thrilled to see a Catholic in one of our services. They would be sure to hear the Gospel for a change.

 

Our church still meets in our home and we have Catholics coming every week. You better beleive if one of their family died I would be at the funeral.

I suppose according to some of the posts here this is also compromising and condoning their error by even associating with them.
