Behaving one's self is not adding legalism to the Christian faith—it is being a Christian!

The foremost denouncer of legalism in the Church was the Apostle Paul and he did not mince words when it came to the fact that long hair is a sin and an abomination in the sight of God,

1 Cor. 11:14. Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him,
15. but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her for a covering.
16. But if one is inclined to be contentious, we have no other practice, nor have the churches of God.

It is important to note that when Paul appeals to nature or Old Testament principles to defend his teachings and instructions to the Church he is teaching something of exceptional importance! Those who choose to rebel and sin against the most Holy God are being contentious and choosing to practice something that is wholly outside of the realm of Christianity and therefore they are choosing to exclude themselves from the people of God.

There is no shortage of fire in the pits of hell for those who deliberately and willfully choose to oppose the ordinances of God as set forth by the Apostles in the Holy Scriptures.
