According to a BP press release Wildy Drake of Califonia is to be nominated as 1st VP of the SBC. According to the article their total budget was around $96,000 with CP giving of $1,000

Another artilce in BP talks about CP giving being down 1.07% from a year ago - link follows

    http://www.sbcbaptistpress.org/bpnews.asp?ID=22766

Yet another artile in todays BP quotes a Colorado pastor as follows:

    http://www.sbcbaptistpress.org/bpnews.asp?ID=22764

Pastor Calvin Wittman of Applewood Baptist Church in Wheat Ridge, Colo., said, “A pastor has to ask, ‘What could we do in impacting the lostness in our world if every person would get involved in the Cooperative Program? How many more people could be reached? What could we do if every church cooperated the way they want their members to cooperate?’

"If we're not as a church giving at least 10 percent to the Cooperative Program, how can we ask our members to tithe?” Wittman said. “I know there are other ways of doing missions, but there is no better way than the Cooperative Program. [It] is the most effective way to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That's why we're involved with it. We're a missions-minded church."

So what should the minimum level of CP giving be for a holder of a national office of the SBC??

I would love to see a chart of CP giving since the "conservative resurgence" took place!

Personally, I don't really care for large united, convention-dictated, hierarchical, nationally-/state-centralized, oligarchy-style church systems with Presidents and Vice-Presidents, and where the activities of hundreds of churches are dictated and/or mandated by the ideas of the few bigshots. It kind of reminds me of Catholic church structure. There are two offices in the church: bishop and deacon. Anyway...

I would say the minimum and maximum level of giving for any believer should be what can be given cheerfully. I know this question reflects the organizational structure of the SBC, but Scripturally, my answer would be in the sentence above.

I apologize for what I said in the last post. I do get a little concerned with large structured Christian organizations, but I feel I may have unnecessarily offended many good brothers and sisters in Christ who may not feel the same way I do. I am truly sorry.
