Ditto. </font>
Kinda like worshiping a tree, eh?

"Oh Christmas Tree" reminds me of
worshiping prayer in "Sweet Hour of Prayer" :(

Jingle Bells -- and I have a replacement! Check out my poem "Birthday of Jesus" at http://www.williamreberpoetry.com

Wrote a couple of years ago at the suggestion of some children in Sunday School. Hope you enjoy it!

Symbolic of the Trinity and possibly the magi. Generally speaking when 3 is used it is the Trinity. </font>
Interesting, tenor. I don't know. If it represents the Trinity, then the 2nd (or mabye 3rd) stanza which states "the Virgin Mary and Christ were there" would seem a little redundant. And we know the Bible mentions three gifts, not three magi...oh, don't get me started. Anyway, I'v never liked that one and any carol which mentions angels "singing", and actually, not too many of them I think can stand under Biblical scrutiny.
But - I love Handel's Messiah!

Here are the full lyrics I referred to in my post just above:

I Saw Three Ships

I saw three ships come sailing by
on Christmas Day, on Christmas Day.
I saw three ships come sailing by
on Christmas Day in the morning.

And what was in those ships all three
on Christmas Day, on Christmas Day?
And what was in those ships all three
on Christmas Day in the morning?

The Virgin Mary and Christ were there
on Christmas Day, on Christmas Day.
The virgin Mary and Christ were there
on Christmas Day in the morning.

I do not object to I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus. The santa is the story has zilch to do with the devil. Santa was the kids father.

I despise "White Christmas"!! It reminds me too much of Bing Crosby and...well, I won't go there...it's Christmas.

Peace-

I'm not a fan of Bing's either. I have heard things, but since I do not know if they are the God's Honest truth, I'll hold my tongue; so to speak.

we always sang the adulterated version of We 3 Kings:

"We three kings of orient are
Trying to smoke a rubber cigar.
But it was loaded,
And it exploded;
Now we are spread afar."

I don't like "Grandma got ran over by a Reindeer" and "O Christmas tree". The first is silly, and the second seems like you're singing an anthum to a tree. I like all the others listed though.

But I never heard:

"I'm getting nuttin for Christmas
Mommy and Daddy are sad;
I'm getting nuttin for Christmas -
Cause I ain't been nuttin but bad."

I don't know the tune, but I'll read it to my 3 year old.

Now that Christmas is over.....

All of the songslisted so far are good nominations for terrible Christmas songs.

My nomination is "I'll be home for Christmas."

A friend of ours wrote alternate words for that one that started "I'll be home for Christmas, if Christ comes today." I don't remember the rest of it, wish I did.
