Casting Crowns

Hi. I am going tomorrow night to see them. About how long did their concert last?

Yes, several times. Their lead singer, Mark Hall, has been a youth pastor. Good talent, and good music. He tends to talk a bunch at concerts, which doesn't tickle my fancy, but others love that.

yeah, I love them..i think they are the most Godly CCM group out there. I have yet to hear anything from CCM critics concerning them.

Their songs speaks volumes.

 

Yeah, we missed it and they were close by. Maybe next time. Their songs do speak volumes and they can sing!

 

We saw them a few nights ago and it was a great experience. I even bought their bright green T-shirt. Mark Hall is very open and honest, and he is just a real guy. He had a meeting with all youth workers, too, and you can just see his heart for kids.
Even my husband enjoyed the concert. He only went out of obligation, but ended up liking them and buying their cd at walmart yesterday. (I already had it, but he wanted his own, lol) I was uncomfortable with the way the invitation was done, but it wasnt them doing it, it was a speaker that traveled with them. He was manipulative in my opinion. We had 3 make "decisions", and all three were confused when they left. But if they are ever anywhere closeby again, I WILL be there!! Oh, Nichole Nordeman was with them, and I really enjoyed her music as well. Very transparent and mellow.

 

Does Casting Crowns do a lot of good tight instrumental improvisation?

Guitar solos, sax solos, keyboard solos, etc?

they have guitars, drums, keyboard and a violin. They did do alot of improvisation at the concert I attended. And they played most of their songs in lower keys than what are on their cds. Drummer dude could flat beat them drums, too!

(By the way, my 3 year old daughter has an imaginary friend named Mike. He is 17 and he smokes, lol. I think Mikes are trouble!!! )

I've heard the name but I'm not sure if I've ever heard their music. I dont listen to much CCM. Thats not to say I dont listen to, or like, contemporary christian music...I do.

But about 98% of what I listen to is contemporary "Praise and Worship" music.

My 3 favorite CCM artists would be Iona, Phil Keaggy and Edens Bridge. I used to like Big Tent Revival, but they broke up. Third Day has a nice sound and a great lead singer but they desperately need for someone to teach their lead guitarist how to play some decent, and extended, lead guitar solos.

For the most part however, I listen to Vineyard and Integrity praise and worship music when I listen to contemporary music.

(My favorite kind of music is "bluegrass" and "old time" music.)

Me merciful to me! Have pity! I'll go to amazon.com immedietly after posting this and listen to all the samples!

Didnt you know, all of us "Mikes" are bad news. We are "trouble" with a capitol "T"!

Actually, I smoked a whoooooole lot more than cigarettes back before I was born again in 1982!

Then you'll love Casting Crowns. They are very worshipful. Try "WHo Am I". Its good stuff.

 

Casting Crowns is awesome.

I haven't had a chance to pick up their albums yet, but I want 'em.

I hear them on the radio all the time, though.

The lead singer is still a fulltime youth minister. He does a great job.

 

Hey, everyone! It's been along time since I've been on here.(computer problems)I attend church with CC. They are without a question the most "real Christian" band that I know of. I never listened to CCM until listening to them at church...and watching their everyday lives! They are exactly as they appear! No fluff! No guessing who they are singing about! Christ is they're target of Praise and youth is the target of they're ministry. The really good thing about all that is they haven't actually targeted adults, but we get hit anyway! Their songs are Christ centered, most songs are directed at the church and our actions toward the worlds view of the church. Mark is who he seems to be. No show, just a love for kids that shines through in everything he does and says. He's very shy and unassuming. I love and pray for these guys and girls each day. Every Wednesday night he's at his home church with a very capable co-youth pastor (Reagan Farris) teaching my kids and the other kids in our church about Christ and Christian living. Every other Sunday he is at his home church. I urge you to read the inside cover of "Lifesong". His words are Bible based in every way. Shane
