I was sitting here and wanting to write a reply, and seeing I've been accused of being a bit hard edged, I figured I'd just give the facts.... He says that what the Dixie Chicks did was terrible.

Let's look at the facts.

1. Pat Boone has taken vile and filthy rock and roll music produced in the 1950's by black artists and redone them to appeal to a broader crowd...This is not to say that I am a racist, in any way, shape or forum... it is simply the facts.

Which is in direct oppisition of his supposed "Christian" faith:

This is to say nothing of the well known fact that Pat Boones daughters were well known in entertainment circles in the late 1960's and early 1970's to be sexually promiscuous. It was and still is a well known thing in the worlds of music. Not to mention the fact that his daughters were very much into the hippy culture and were one the driving forces behind the very early "Jesus Music" crazy of the 1970's.

No, not racist, and not just a fact. Yes, Pat Boone did infuse his music with rock and roll, but by adding your opinion to a fact, ie: "vile and fithy" "to appeal to a broader crowd" you taint that fact with your opinion.

'Dork (and, by the way, if ever there were an appropriate screenname, this is it), if you're going to make such accusations, then you really need to back them up or at least explain why they're bad.

For instance, why is it a bad thing to remove the R&B element from a song and make it a pop song?

Why is it bad to be a hippie? For the record, in the book, "Heart of the Matter: The CCM Interviews", edited by John Styll, Randy Stonehill describes the first meeting between him and partner, Larry Norman, and Pat Boone.

In the interview, Stonehill, an actual hippie, describes the girls as anything but hippies. In fact, he describes the household as a scene from "The Sound of Music".

When you say that their "promiscuity" was well known, well known to whom?
