Is it alright to start a thread 'advertising' the need of a Godly Man to fill a gaping vacancy?

Don't you have an association for available men?

    Cheers,

Sister Saggy.. [IMG] :D that's funny!!!

There are quite a few Independent Baptist Fellowships but "word of mouth" seems to be the main form of 'advertisiment'.

Before me and Gayla moved here, the association our church in Las Vegas was with was the BBFI (http://www.bbfi.org) But this one appears to be truly independant (no affiliation) that I know of.
I did put an ad of sorts on the church web page... http://www.brbaptist.com

There are several "pastor search" sites available on the web. An excellent one is Pastor Search Network . This site also has several links to other search sites.
You could also check out Tenesee Temple College . This will get you to the home page. Then click on "Alumni".
May the Lord bless you in your search.

Check out PastorStaff. You can post your open position for free, with as much (or as little) information as you wish. The site also has a good number of resumes posted and archived.

One of the drawbacks of ifb is that we are often SO "independent" that we don't help one another in an area of need (like finding a pastor).

Most states have a loose fellowship of IFB churches. Circuitrider heads the Wisconsin one; I have done that in Wyoming. Check and see what is available.

Georgia has nothing that I am aware of unless you are SBC. I think the TTU idea is probably a good one.

You might try signing up with http://ChurchStaffing.com It has pulldown menus for search criteria such as denomination (Baptist, and SBC are separate listings, also by areas. Usually quite a few Pastors looking to move to a warmer/cooler climate or big city/small town, etc,

You seem to imply that the BBFI is a church association or even a denomonational body of sorts. That is NOT what the BBFI is about or even does. It is a fellowship of pastors who pastor Independent Baptist Churches. The churches have nothing to do with the BBFI unless the leadership chooses to help in a project of some kind for missions.

Someday hope to meet a die-hard BBF type pastor or church that is truly "independent" and not a defacto part of a whole "mind-set" (with which I am almost totally opposed). Must be a rare place!

[NOTE: Starting a new topic, since this is sure to raise controversy. Let's keep this one on topic]

Another option for a pastor would be contacting the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship. They are a fellowship of pastors, but they do have some structure for pastoral placement. [IMG]

jshurley, we are aware the BBF is a Fellowship and not an Association, and you might be surprised how many people think of the BBF as a Denomination.

I think the church has gotten 4 resumes thus far.
