As for the comment by NiteShift, Daisy is exactly right. Robertson makes himself the object of ridicule by proclaiming to speak for God. Janet Reno hasn't been heard from since her days as AG, and I don't recall her ever claiming she spoke for God.

No, not the best and not the scientific. Heck, even Shakespeare knew better than that (Othello). It wasn't until later, when men needed to justify slavery for life that that became a popular notion.

 

The connection is that they are both public figures, both disliked by large numbers of people, and both have been on the recieving end of "humorous" slaps in the face by people who consider themselves pretty good Christians. (MP said in effect that Robertson is Psychotic) How's that?

 

Not too bad, but Robertson got his own thread because he was featured in a Fox News yesterday -- while Reno was plopped gratuiously into a thread about evolution because...when was the last time Ms. Reno made a public spectacle of herself? Three or four years?

Thanks anyway, NiteShift; you did at least come up with an explanation even though the remark wasn't yours. Now, can you explain (seriously) to me why Hillary's wearing a hair band caused such a stir back when Bill was first campaigning for president? I never got that one and it's been more than a decade already.
