How reliable is the book titled Baptist Trail of Blood? I've seen catholic sites that attack it as unhistorical.

Amazing: a four year old thread. If the basic premise were without merit, seems it would have died long ago. With the exception of a certain Cardinal Hosius perhaps being misquoted, the basic premise stands: New Testament Churches have survived the onslaughts of Rome and Wittenburg and other bastions of religious fervor for nearly two thousand years. The Bride of Christ is without spot or blemish or any such thing.

The churches of the world cannot abide this, nor can the world.

    Selah,

    Bro. James

I never said the topic was without merit. I only meant the reason for the link being dead was the post listing it was four years old.

In studying the anabaptists, I have found that they are the ancestors of the Baptists, and have been around long before the Roman Catholic Church and the Protestants. They were persecuted by both the Roman Catholics and the Protestants because they held the Bible as their main authority. So; actually, Baptists are neither Catholic nor Protestants, we stand alone, not really alone so to speak, as we stand with Him and His Word, as that is what we place above everything. One reason I'm happy to be called a Baptist.
