I know that EVERY nation has a 4th of July, but in the USA, we CELEBRATE IT.

It is for many a LONG WEEKEND (Thurs-Sun) and lots of folks plan special travel, mini-vacation, family gatherings, etc. Also, churches sometimes have picnics, camps or special patriotic programs.

    Wassupppp with you?

We are going to a 4th of July parade that my girls are in that morning. It is just for children. They decorate their wagons, bikes, etc in patriotic stuff and then have a parade. We will probably swim and cook out and later that night watch some fireworks!

On the 3rd, I'll be taking my kids and joining a groups of families from my cousin's church who will be attending the Anaheim Angels game, It's "big bang" day, meaning that game is followed by a spectacular fireworks show. There will be a church tailgate party prior.

On the 4th, I'll be taking the family to see Terminator 3.

On the 5th, I'll be taking the kids to Downtown Disney to celebrate my son's 7th birthday.

On the 6th, I'll be balance my checkbook to see how much damage I've done

I would love to take a long road trip somewhere, but I will not be travelling as far as Saggy is.

BTW: Tina, is that a mission trip to the Ukraine. Best wishes.

Long weekends are big for weddings here in Wyoming. Family can come; workers are off. Usually do 2-3 on the long US weekends - Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day. So I will be busy again.

The wife is having a family reunion and she can have them. She has nice family but I'm not related to any (except by marriage). I'd rather be fishin'

    Dr. Bob,

My family and I will be sailing on Lake MacBride over the weekend. I can't wait! [IMG] Yippee!!

I apologize in advance if this offends, but it just brought back some good memories from younger years. - Wasn't Dr. Bob a character on The Muppets? - I think he was a dog. [IMG] Remember the Swedish Chef? "Sprinkle de fleur, de fleur."

    One of my favorite shows.

My favorite character was Dr. Bob!

Nurse Piggy: "Dr. Bob, Dr. Bob, you're giving this hospital a bad name."
Dr. Bob: "Oh, I don't think 'Ralph' is such a bad name."

I'm going camping with my family and some friends in Christopher Creek (if there are any camping spaces left by the time we get there). It is one of very, very few places to still have actual running water in Arizona.

On the 4th, I'm going to sleep in, maybe pick up a matinee, then maybe go down to the Mall. The better place to go around there would probably be the Jefferson Memorial. It seems to be the forgotten place to go for events like this.

Saturday we're having a pickup softball game and party at a friend's, and then I'm heading down to see the family.

We're going over the our best friends house for a cookout and swimming (except I can't swim... glub, glub...) We've done this every year since we first met. They live about 3 miles from here by the roads or if we snuck through the woods, about 1 mile.

I really enjoy time with Sharon. She's lead teacher over all the teachers at a middle school in the next county so we don't get to spend a LOT of time together execept in the summer and winter break.......

Change of plans. We're camping up at Woods Canyon Lake for three nights. This is a good change, though, as Woods Canyon has wonderful trout and nearby Willow Springs Lake has both trout and black bass.

I finished building a cherry desk today in my woodshop, including staining it.

We planned on staying home today, just our family. We got a call very early in the morning that there had been two deaths in a family in our church. Hubby spent a large part of the day with that family. We did grill hamburgers and go to a fireworks display, but there was a cloud over the day.

I ended up at the lake for a 1 pm wedding in a lovely shady arbor. But still in a suit and on crutches with my broken foot.

Then after recuperating in the afternoon, went to dinner with blues singer Spencer Bohren and his family, his brother Dale (editor of our local newspaper), their mother and the wife and I. Roasted corn-on-the-cob and steaks!

Back home before 10 and watched fireworks from the backyard. A good time had by all!
