Help! I've been corrupted by Christian Science

I really need help because I came across something that was called "Christian" and also "science" but was really neither...called Christian Science. And now I need help BAD. Please post as many verses as you can about Satan and how he relates to people, God, and nature. I know this may sound strange and childish, but they have really messed with my beliefs about who satan is and what he can do. I need Scripture really bad. Thanks a WHOLE lot!

They believe that humanity is already eternally saved...that sin, evil, sickness, and death are not real. They believe heaven and hell are merely states of mind, and that the way to reach heaven is by attaining harmony, or oneness with God.

They use Christian Science practitioners instead of doctors, because true healing comes from the knowledge that one cannot be ill (remember, it is an illusion).

Trust in Him

(Joh 14:26) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

In Ezekiel 28:12-17 is a description of Satan before his fall, and during his fall. Ezekiel is speaking to the King of Tyre in the passage, but when you really look at the verses you see he is talking to Satan. The evidence for this is the fact taht the passage refers to a perfectly created, beautiful, wise creature that walked the mountain of God, and walked in Eden who was created as the guardian cherub. This cherub became so prideful that they were cast from heaven to earth.

The whole passage reads (NIV):
"You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you' ruby, topas, and emerald, chrysolite, onyx, and jasper. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. 14 You were annointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. 15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created 'till wickedness was found in you. 16 16 Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the firey stones. 17 Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings."

Isaiah 14:12-15 also seems to be talking about the fall of Satan.

"How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds. I will make myself like the Most High." 15 But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit."

Revelation 12:4 seems to support the view that Ezekiel and Isaiah are talking about Satan.

"His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth."

CubeX, I think you have a lot of helpful posts here.

Christian Science is a Mind Science religion that came from the New Thought Movement. New Thought, which started in the 1800's, was based on beliefs that Jesus was a way-shower instead of the Way, that man is basically good and divine, that everyone is a part of a God, that sin an evil are illusions, the man Jesus is separate from the Christ, that our thoughts create reality, that heaven and hell are states of mind, and that "salvation" is a matter of realizing these things. These beliefs actually went back to Emmanuel Swedenborg in the 17th or 18th century.

The other 2 big religions that came from New Thought are the Unity School of Christianity and the Church of Religious Science. They differ in many ways from Christian Science but have the same roots and you can see how they are all related. There are many groups that are spinoffs of these. Mary Baker Eddy added her own spin to New Thought, but she got a lot of material from Phineas Quimby, who had been a student of Anton Mesmer, the hypnotist who supposedly could manipulate an energy he called animal magnetism (we get the word "mesmerize" from his name).

New Thought influenced the New Age and also Word Faith beliefs, so it has never gone away. It keeps morphing into new forms and it uses Christian terminology so it can be very deceptive.

It has nothing to do with true, historic Christianity and in fact, denies all the essentials of the Christian faith while still calling itself Christianity. It is just another lie of Satan.

From Matthew 4:

Notice from this that 1)satan is a person. Ideas of the mind do not speak and have conversations, nor do they show visions. If they did, someone is insane! God is not insane. 2)here satan is trying to decieve in order to get Jesus to worship him. Only a real person can tell lies. Who ever heard of a thought telling a lie? or something that doesn't exist telling a lie? 3) Jesus had power over satan. The instant Jesus ordered him away, he went.

John 8:44 - "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."

Indeed, Satan is the father of lies. Christian Science is a lie. Its history and its "theology" bear that out. There is little else to be considered on the matter.
