I'm sorry I still could not trust him/her, if you are a christian than you are an infidel according to the quaran, will he/she be able to separate religion for law of the land, the land of the great satan? I don't think so. Another reason I am leary of muslims is because some moderate muslims place somewhere knows where some of the terrorist are hiding out and will not tell, they say they are against them, then point them out.

 

On the sunday following 9/11 while on my way to work ,I passed by a deli owned by muslims, a deli that I frequented. These guys smiled in your face and laugh and talk to you everyday ---knew your name, and knew what you were going to order before you open your mouth. Well on that day very few people were on the street, it was a ghost town!! One of the two guys was holding up a newpaper with the destroyed WTC on the front page, they both were dancing and laughing with glee. I moved on, I don't frequent them anymore.

In regards to my post folks with the word satan in it---I feel that anyone who would preach such hatred and violence, murder and suicide has to be influenced by satan. Maybe not all muslims feel this way, however, they need to ban together and educate their brethen worldwide against such sacrilege. The teachings of these radical and viscious men are not from GOD

 

That seems to be the current growing movement among American muslims and other muslims worldwide. Why it doesn't get the press it deserves is beyond me. Probably because it's not newsworthy.

IMO, Islam is a manmade religion. It's not from "anyone". They attempt to worship God, but worship in ignorance. Our job is to share the Gospel in the manner that Paul did with the Athenians. I've shared my faith with Muslims in the past using Paul's Athenian blueprint, and it's been very effective.

Of course, this is strictly my opinion. Opinions are like navels, ya know.

But, all of that is beside the point. A person's religion shouldn't be a matter of test in regards to SCOTUS.

Well, Jonv, I am sure you will agree that you can't have your cake and eat it also on this one. Muhammed, said the koran as dictated to him by an angel. So he spoke to an angel, or a Demon, or he lied,-- oh I see manmade--he lied. But such lies come from somewhere, yes?

 

Bunyon, that's not correct. Mohammed did not claim the Koran was dictated to him by an angel. The Koran did not even come into existence until long after his death, and the writings therein consist of not just messages that Muhammad wanted to pass on, but stories and or passages relating to Muhammad's activity. The bulk of the contents of the Koran are not directly Mohammed's writings. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the Koran as inspired or anything of the sort.

Anyhoo, to answer your point, I can only attest to Paul's blueprint with the Athenians working for me when I share my faith with Muslims. Why would I depart from such an effective witnessing tool? Yet I can't tell you how many well-meaning Christians disapprove of how I share my faith with them. I suppose if I picketed outside a Muslim's house with a bullhorn, those same Christians would probably approve.

So, steering this whole topic back the the topic of a Muslim on SCOTUS, I ask again, who cares, so long as that person faithfully interprets the Constitution.

 

Well, I care a little. Even though I think it would be unamerican of me to say only a Christian could hold such a posisition. But you got to admit, all things being equal, you would like to see a strong Christian get the posisition.

About the Koran, I wont doubt you, but the fact remains that he started the religion based on the Message he got from an angel in a cave. So the whole religion is predicated on this incounter. And you have to have one of the three opiniions I stated.

I think your approch to witnessing is a smart one and I think you should continue. I don't know why anyone would have a problem with your efforts at fulfilling the great comission with Muslims.

 

The same thing was once said of Jews and Catholics as judges. It sounds equally ridiculous when said here. There are likely hundreds of judges at the lower court level who are Muslim. I have yet to hear of a case of a Muslim inserting personal religious beliefs into a judicial decision. In fact, the last time I heard of this happenning, it was with a Christian judge named Moore...
