the anti-christ and modern day Iraq

    could the anti-christ rise from the new Iraqi government do you know that there are modern day assyrians and that a large population lives right here in the US and that there is a population living in Iraq today remember the anti-christ will be called an assyrian and many of them are christians look at this

    horror of horrors the anti-christ

    Thus will be born a super world-government, a composite of Babylon, Persia, and Greece, ruling the whole earth — truly a diverse “beast” called Babylon, being located on the Euphrates River (Rev. 9:14). The ruler will be called the ASSYRIAN because this ruler of Babylon, like Nebuchadnezzar of old, is Assyrian by birth. Isaiah 10:5, 25; 13; 14:23; 47, and Micah 5:5 confirm the fact that the super world-government will be located on the Euphrates and will be ruled over by a man of Assyrian birth. The “beast” will have authority over the human race for 42 months and will spend his time making war with the saints.

    The mindspring article is good accept for some minor errors which I've corrected below:

    It has been, in my view, a serious weakness of prophetic study to overlook the directed link, authorized by Jesus himself, between Matthew 24:15 — “When you see the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel…” — and Daniel 11:31 — “they will set up the Abomination of Desolation.”

    Mt. 24:15 speaks of the coming Antichrist whereas Dn. 11:31 speaks of Antiochus and the Maccabees, "the people who know their God will firmly resist him (Antiochus).


    Parallel also to the data we have collected so far is the remarkable prophecy in Zechariah 5:8-11 where “Wickedness” (Gk. anomia, cp. “Man of wickedness” in II Thess. 2:3, 8) is sent back to Babylon and “set on her own pedestal” (5:11). This forecast of Babylon active at the end-time is confirmed by the reference in Revelation 16:10-13 to the River Euphrates in connection with the kingdom of the “Beast.”

    The "Wickedness" portrays "the iniquity of the people throughout the land" of Babylon, not the wickedness of an individual, the Antichrist. This commercial system, as represented by the woman in a basket, was transported to a different location other than present day Iraq. A stork flies great distances, like across the sea to the land of America "to build a house for it. When it is ready, the basket will be set there in its place." (v.11).


    The books of Nahum and Habbakuk contain references to an end-time Babylonian/Assyrian tyrant also.

    Nahum refers to Assyria and Habbakuk to US.


    He himself will divide the globe into three ruling powers, when however, Nero will be raised up from hell, Elijah will first come to seal the beloved ones; at which things the region of Africa [King of the South?] and the northern nations [King of the North?], the whole earth on all sides will tremble for seven years. But Elijah will occupy half of the time and Nero the other half.

    The world is now being divided into 10 regions which probably will be completed in time for the Antichrist.

    Nero will not be resurrected to be the Antichrist.

    King of the South is Egypt; Syria is the king of the north.

    Elijah has already come. If one of the two witnesses is Elijah his ministry of judgment will be in the second half along with the AC.

    Just for clarification, it's not an article. It's an opinion someone put in an html document. That person then uploaded it to his personal homepage on a mindspring internet account. It has no greater weight that the opinions of any poster on the BB.

    we need to look at this carefully and honestly
    I am amazed at the link of Nimrod with the assyrian history think of it one of the first empires to confront God directly a perfect relationship to the future anti-christ this report is extremely detailed as if driven by some force
