I think that the only place that Senator Clinton's campaign would end up rolling in the general election is off of a political cliff. </font>[/QUOTE]Nice thought Ken. Disagree though.

Sen Clinton is playing this brilliantly. She is softening her image and she speaks well. She will be the media darling, the whole world will love her.

C4K is correct: "Sen Clinton is playing this brilliantly. She is softening her image and she speaks well. She will be the media darling, the whole world will love her."

Family friendly, family values--the village will elect her as things stand today.

The nation is not exactly in 2008 presidential campaign mode.

The other Democrat contenders, especially the moderates, are not going to play softball with her in late 2007 - early 2008.

If the GOP nominates a decent candidate, such as Condi Rice, they could defeat Senator Clinton decisively.

The right wing fringe is irrelevant to serious presidential politics in the U.S.

A percentage of the population in the U.S. is homosexual and they have a right to be involved in politics. If you don't want any homosexuals supporting a candidate that you vote for, then I suggest you find a right wing fringe candidate to support.

R's can nominate McCain. Split the party. Moderates and TRUE conservatives. Then I could return to the party.

You want a party that has no ability to win?

I think it is better to be an independent and not give allegiance to any political party. Vote for the candidate, not the party.

Nope. Remember John Kerry never even showed up as a contender until just before the Iowa caucuses in 2004, and remember how the pundits had conceded the race to Howard Dean, just like they are doing to Senator Clinton currently.

The difference is this: Howard Dean was a dark horse until he established himself. Clinton hasn't really been a dark horse at all.

Still, I see no way that an extreme liberal is going to be the first woman or the first black elected president. It will be enough of a hurdle to get lots of folks to vote for either a woman or a black for president without the additional problem of being either extremely liberal or extremely conservative.

Yea, like 2 percent. Don't believe kinsey's study of 10 percent. He used prisoners as his control group and he was bisexual. So now we are saying anytime someone decides to politically organize around some behavior like sexual preferencs, we have to count them a minority who needs token candidates? I wont vote for a candidate who wants gay marriage or abortion.

I am not a one issue or even a two issues voter, but those two issues do carry a lot of weight in my decision making process on who to vote for or not to vote for.

    Ken,

The right wing fringe is irrelevant to serious presidential politics in the U.S.

For accuracy, I think you need to define "right wing fringe". Do you mean the right wing is a fringe, or the fringe of the right wing? Whom or what elements/organizations does that fringe include?

Here a webpage listing third parties - LINK . I think you'll be able to determine which ones compose the fringe of the right wing or the fringe of the left wing.

Actually, you pretty much answered it by referring to it as the fringe of the right wing. Just wanted to make sure whether you were calling the right wing itself a fringe. I also agree with you that homosexuals certainly have a right to be involved in politics, but many, including myself, are concerned that their involvement as homosexuals means an effort to advance their agenda, which includes not simply societal tolerance but acceptance or even promotion of that lifestyle.

But, wow, some of those outfits are the fringe of the fringe!

I think Alfred E. Newman could run a close race against Hillary based souly on her past, if we are allowed to have it reviewed in the media. Which is doubtful. We don't need anyone named Clinton.
