Mar del Plata, Argentina -- President Bush has said immigration reform ranks near the top of his second-term agenda, but he and Mexican President Vicente Fox passed up an opportunity this weekend to discuss the controversial issue at a hemispheric summit here.

The decision raises new questions about whether Bush will be able to push through Congress a guest-worker program that is dividing members of his own party.

"He wasn't interested, and I wasn't, either," Fox said in an interview published Saturday in Clarin, a leading Argentine newspaper. "Why would we have a meeting just to have one? When we have important issues before us, we deal with them."

A senior Bush administration official played down Fox's comments. "I wouldn't read too much into them," said the official, who requested anonymity as he sought to minimize the issue.

My comment: They should be talking about it every
    chance they get..phone,fax,video conference, and
meet ups. This issue is growing on the American
people we want legal immigration and not illegal
immigration how much plainer can we communicate it! I doubt the numbers of 10 million illegals now
inside the United States it must be twice that and you just are not dealing with people who take
jobs others will not do that is not wholely true
anymore...these staff and temp jobs are being
fitted for companies to take foreign workers and
leaving a core staff of permanents under tremendous stress. Imho...plus and I think we should open a series of topics on this subject...
CAN WE FOR ONCE IN OUR HISTORY ACTUALLY SECURE OUR
BORDER...JUST ONCE! to put it mildly -the most powerful and richest country in the world cannot
control its southern border(worst of the two).

As a disclaimer I have worked with people form all
over the world (mostly educated)* of course they are welcome and they seem to understand and agree
with legal immigration but, what I am seeing is
massive throngs of people coming here with high
odds of staying and if they are caught a myriad of
ways for them to stay and or come back across. Plus like I said earlier their are more here than the numbers are showing(imho).

    * Of course their are moral and ethical people here as well in the masses of educated and minority educated but it seems to be a small minority...and it is sad they do not represent
the whole because the rest give them a bad name.

Topics I would like to see addressed

    "The Border" with solutions

"Reverse discrimination" We are taught and we have
rules of law that prevent discrimination...should
illegals and their clans have free will in this
    regard.

"Our Tax dollars funding illegals education"

"Our Tax dollars funding their medical care"

"Corporations the secret energizer for illegal
    immigration"

"Security...and how terrorist would use illegal
    immigration to thier advantage"

"Major fence or concrete barrier on our southern
border to prevent the stampede effect" (yes I realize a few straglers will repel a barrier or fence)

"Civil Service Draft for older people who will make up an Army of 100,000 who will do peaceful
border control and monitoring" of course make it
volunteer but would like to see it funded and paid
for with our tax dollars...THAT WOULD BE A GOOD
    INVESTMENT TAX..imho.

There is nothing left to discuss, Aslanspal, the fix is in they just have to create the oppurtune time to go put it in action.
Amos 8:11 (KJV) Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

The Byrd Amendment lost 14-85. It would have stripped a giant budget bill of provisions to increase importation of permanent foreign workers and family by 350,000 a year.

The traitors in Washington selling the hardworking American down the river.

The high-tech ones we need because our kids don't want to be engineers, etc. Legal immigration is not the problem--it is illegal immigration that destroys our security. We do need to build a wall such as Israel is doing--first in the south and then in the north. Good fences make good neighbors.

Wonder what percentage of those kids that don't want to learn anything other than manufacturing burgers are on a government approved heavy metal and drug program of one sort or another, got any numbers on that CMG?
