I am looking for scripture about heaven. Specifically scripture that says that we will know our friends and loved one who have gone home before us. I am looking for this scripture to comfort a friend who is feeling down. Does this scripture exist? If so, the advice of the group would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Mike (Rev. 14:6-7)

If you look at the story of the rich man and Lazarus, they both knew each other after death.

I think you can build on that one.

edit: also, when David lost his son, he said that he would go to him, that he (his son) would not come [back] to him.

Saul was visited by Samuel after Samuel's death and there was no doubt regarding identities.

    Hope that helps.

Just to add to what Helen said, on the mount of transfiguration, Peter, James and John, recognized Moses and Elijah even though they had never seen them before.

Reminds me of the story of the little boy coloring a picture in Sunday School. His teacher asked him what it was and he said he was finishing a picture of Jesus.

"But no one knows what Jesus looked like," replied the teacher.

    "They will now."

    1 Cor 13:12

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1 Jo 3:2 ...we shall be like him;...

I heard a preacher named John Kent once speak on this as advice for us to become more and more like Christ during our lives so that the shock wouldn't be so great when we get to heaven. Wouldn't it be great if people that knew me just said, "Hi, 'Artimaeus'" without having to add, "is that reaaaalllllyyy you!"
