A seasoned hunter like Dick Cheney not having enough sense to use good common sense while hunting? Those birds were not terrorist so there was no reason for Dick to lose his composure and hit a buddy with some friendly fire.

 

Hagel's joke was one of those "you had to be there" things. Cheney, like the rest of the neocons, made very sure he would never be there.

Hagel might be in the same party, but he obviously hasn't forgotten it.

 

No secret service agent would say anything of the sort. If he did, he's reassigned. Cheney was sober as a judge, and everyone that was there will testify to that, though it won't be needed.

Cheney will resign in January of 2009 and Condi will go away into private life or local politics in some state for about 8 years, and then she might consider running for president...and Hillary Clinton will more than likely be the next president of the United States.

Cheney won't be resigning in 2009, his term of office will have expired.

I seriously doubt that Condi will run for elective office. She's an academician, not a politician.

A real credible person would have considered his position in the Bush administration and adressed this soooner than what Cheney did. Cheney needed to stall this out as long as he could to get his alibis straight and to guzzle mutiple amounts of Tic Tacs before the Sheriff came over(14 Hours Later) just in case there was a real investigation.The investigation that was conducted was a big joke.

Well Dick Cheney did create a lot of speculation and doubt.
What concerns me is that if Cheney was under the influence of alcohol what part does that play in his day to day life.I cannot buy that a sober person who is also a seasoned hunter and should know the rules of safety while hunting lost all common sense and shot a friend
If that was poor judgement minus the alcohol then Cheney needs to be reviewed on his competence as Vice-President.
If Dick Cheney was not sober when the accident occured then he got away with lying to an entire country . this is a man we are supposed to trust. Cheney has put that trust in doubt when he stalled at reporting this matter and because an alcohol test could not be performed it cast further doubt. A lot of things do not add up in the accounts that he and other witnesses have made.
We cannot turn a blind eye to this matter and allow the 2nd highest office holder in the land to be above the same laws that you and I are expected to abide in. The investigation alone was a sham.

Don't believe a word that that secret service agent said. The thirteen other agents said that Cheney could not have been drunk. It was impossible for him to be drunk. He was still wasted from the drugs.

 

There you go, building a case where there is no evidence, just hearsay from someone with an axe to grind.

And to investigate what? The locals determined, from the evidence, that an accident occured. Just because they didn't find the way you desired, doesn't constitute a sham. Shame on you.

I have heard better alibis fom teenagers who have been caught doing what they shouldn't be doing. If this had happened to anyone else other than Dick Cheney a proper investigation would have been conducted. This is what happens when Absolute Power Corrupts. This is what happens when you have the right conections and you can influence yourself out of a jam. Sadly this is becoming the New Amereican Way but only if you are wealthy enough to afford it. I am suprised that most folks will excuse Cheney and hold him to the same low standards that was set by Bill Clinton.
