On May 29, 2003, 50 days after the fall of Baghdad, President Bush proclaimed a fresh victory for his administration in Iraq: Two small trailers captured by U.S. troops had turned out to be long-sought mobile "biological laboratories." He declared, "We have found the weapons of mass destruction."...

A secret fact-finding mission to Iraq -- not made public until now -- had already concluded that the trailers had nothing to do with biological weapons. Leaders of the Pentagon-sponsored mission transmitted their unanimous findings to Washington in a field report on May 27, 2003, two days before the president's statement.

Report shelved while claim went forth
The three-page field report and a 122-page final report three weeks later were stamped "secret" and shelved. Meanwhile, for nearly a year, administration and intelligence officials continued to publicly assert that the trailers were weapons factories.

It is sad a leader cannot communicate to the
American people concerns and some of them legitimate but must use the attributes of anti-christ (deception) to go to war.

A baptist/deacon board would call bush to account and it would not be pretty.

but look for the apologists to spin this either as bush did not know or perhaps even they will breach the word incompetence.

The American people deserve the best not the worst. I have said this many times if bush does not kill bin laden or reach out to his father for help ..he will be the worst 8 year President that has decieved the American people ever!

Yep, those trailer were almost certainly used for making Hydrogen for Weather balloons!

Yet, two expert military teams felt that they *could* have been used for weapons use...

First, I have never heard of using a mobile generator for making Hydrogen for weather balloons...

Usually it is compressed into tanks and used when the balloons are released...

So, something isn't ringing true about the trailers being used for making Hydrogen...

I am still inclined to think it was a small scale research lab designed to take the current live sample batches and test them on a remote population...

That would fit Saddams previous test methodologies...

I thought I was going to see some proof... instead I just got more "BUSH LIED" talking points. Funny how everyone possible agreed that Iraq had the WMD, and now pretend that Bush is the only one surprised that they were sitting there waiting to be found.

Bush went on a CIA/DIA analysis of those vehicles that was later refuted.

    http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/4/12/111734.shtml?s=ic

That truth is even buried in the reports cited above if you keep reading.

From the OP it would seem that Galatian thinks this is proof that "Bush lied"... when in fact, it most probably shows that Bush received faulty analysis. Perhaps it was because the intelligence agencies were trying to prove the case that they had fed Bush pre-war or because the Administration was putting pressure on them.

Bush haters will of course demand the latter... very much like the CIA, without regard to which one is actually true.

Clinton types also claimed this. Why do partisan hacks have to glom onto whatever they can and try to make it fit their narrow views? Why can't we call it like it is? Geez.

    Documented here:
    http://www.spokesmanreview.com/breaking/story.asp?id=6468

He insisted that they were biological weapons labs, even as his intelligence people were telling him otherwise.

BTW, I never stated a conclusion. The "Bush Lied" part, you inferred on your own.

I merely posted the facts, without analyzing them.
